Was told East won 37-14. So if Lex Cath wins it's West @ Lex Cath and East @ Boyle next week.

 

That's one tough district.

 

I would pick Catholic and Boyle in next week's games, but at least both games would appear to be pretty tough. East gave Boyle a nice run a couple weeks ago (although I think Boyle will win big this week) and West winning tonight on the road has to give them a ton of confidence going to a Catholic team that isn't as good as normal. Should be a pretty nice weekend of playoff football.

I said early in the year, Holmes was over.....rated. This was the best shot they will have in a very long time.

This really shouldn't be a big shocker. I thought this was a good chance for a 4-seed to beat a district champion. This is the same West Jessamine team that beat Tates Creek by two touchdowns a few weeks ago.

14 penalties....................just sad.

Hate to disagree with you Raiderbird, but I totally disagree. I think the ship has sailed and the kids and powers that be at Boone are just happy to exist when it comes to athletics. Boone has many more problems to worry about other than football or athletics in general right now.

I know for a fact that statement isn't true in basketball..I think there is talent at BC they just need someone who knows what to do with it..JMO

First off, for those of you who are commenting that weren't at the game, you're way off base.

 

Holmes actually scored with 54 seconds to go to take the lead, but a "phantom" holding penalty negated the Jensen 20 yard td run and the young man throws an INT the very next play to end the game. We watched the replay of that td run and there was absolutely NO hold on that play. I won't say which coach, but one coach was off the record saying that there was no hold on that Jensen Td run that would've won the game for the Dogs.

 

I'm never one to blame officials, but it's a shame the officials controlled the outcome of this game. 25 penalties in 127 plays...yes, 1 penalty every 5 plays. Just absolutely horrible crew. I overheard the official there grading them say that this wasn't a very good crew for a playoff game.

 

Holmes killed themselves in the first half though, not capitalizing on two West Jess mistakes. Peterson had a long catch and was stripped of the ball at the 5 yard line and WJ recovered. 6 points left on the field there. Then, Holmes blocks a punt on WJ's own 10 and the very next play they fumble and WJ returns it for a td to make it 14-0.

Okay......Boyle County @ Bell County the day after Thanksgiving. The one team I was worried about can't beat the 4 seed in our district?

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious...

 

Rumors like this with zero substance only hurt all the kids involved. I'm pretty sure Boone County already has a coach. Also, Holmes "weak" schedule was made 3 years ago following 4-6 and 3-8 seasons including a loss Lloyd in 2008 and a loss to Scott in 2007. How about we give the kids at Holmes some credit for working hard and turning the program around? Those kids face many daily challenges beyond football that kids from other towns would be crushed by, but they fight through and still had time to turn a losing football program into a winning program. How about we begin cheering the doer rather than kicking them when they are down. Those kids have accomplished a lot!

I don't think coach Thompson is going anywhere at least for another year or so, just talk to him last week and things are good.
