I would just call them a magnent school and not for academics. But that's ok. dirty little secrets never hurt rite! Would love to know how many titles are won from kids not from Ft. Thomas. I can think of a ton off the top of my head over the years. What an advantage of being a "city" school.

 

What other possible reason could someone have for choosing Highlands over SK? I may be grasping at straws, but what the heck, lets take a look at the most recent ACT scores:

Now that is funny... here will be the reply...SK has more kids so that brings down the ACT average. The more kids part is why they should put Highlands on the schedule. Even if they get destroyed, it will help the Pioneers in the long run.

You just don't get it do you? The kids from outside the school district skew these numbers, too, just like they do in football.:lol:

The Streeter brothers both played in the Ft. Thomas Jr. Football League. The older brother attended St. X because his Dad had an apartment in Ohio and his Mom lives in Ft. Thomas. His Dad moved to California therefore he had to leave St. X and move back to Highlands, (where he lives) if he wanted to play football.

So of the 60+ kids on Highlands' roster....only 2 didn't play in the FTJFL.

 

Yes sure sounds like Highlands has a bunch of "ringers" coming in every year. Come on people. Quit letting the jealousy blind you. HHS is a top notch academic and athletic school which is why kids AND parents WANT to be apart of it.

 

People can put athletics first all they want, but at the end of the day look at how many of these kids are going to college and have their future become brighter by attending HHS and it's easy to see why the Birds attract kids from outside the district for both academic and athletic reasons.

Scott's football program is horrible.

 

Holmes is Covington Independent Public...not a Kenton Co school.

 

 

Holy Cross is a private school...not a Kenton Co school. And last I checked, they still get kids from Independence.

 

Dixie still gets the better athletes. Next year, when these two are in the same district, you'll see why kids are going to Dixie over SK.

What does Bellevue have to do with this thread? You are really reaching, picking on a 1A school who doesnt have the luxury of choosing from a plethora of stud football players due to low numbers. Check the enrollment at SK and then at Bellevue then also check how many state championships in football SK has won compared to lowly Bellevue. Thanks for playing.

And my point was that Holy Cross and Holmes aren't an option for kids that live in Edgewood, Independence, Taylor Mill, and parts of Covington because you'd have to pay to go to those schools because one is private and the other isn't in the Kenton Co School District.

 

SK, Dixie, and Scott are the only options for kids that live in the Kenton Co School District.

HHS doesn't have any FFA members. I have attended SK, you can't compare the academics. Please schedule HHS I want to see a beat down. Act like you have been there; oh I forgot SK hasn't.

The Bulldog is going to be talking high school football again at 10:06 tonight on 700 with Matt Young who is a high school football referee. Not sure if the subject will come up again or not.

The question about music cracked me up, because Bulldog got called to the carpet during the Highlands/ Simon Kenton freshman championship game for obnoxiousness over the PA. As the ref tonight explained that it really isn't a rule but if it is soo bad that the ref feels it is interferring then he can call it. Here Bulldog was so disruptive at a Freshman championship game that he got called to "Cut The C@#$"
