I am not hating just saying Highlands is SK East!

SK has had no success in football until the last 2 years. Guarantee we won't be hearing from these same 3 fans next year when SK is struggling to make it to .500. See Mercer Cty as an example, they were suppose to be ruling 5A after they won the 2A title a few years back. Where are all those fans who ran their mouth now? SK, 2yr wonder who won nothing, but fans act like they're the new standard. The 3 SK fans define success as winning NKY 6A. Highlands, Beechwood, NewCath and CovCath measure success in State Championships.

Again, any news for the 2011 HHS/SK series? Bueller? Bueller? uk#1fan? Bueller? Neerfan? Bueller? Royalblue81? Bueller? Bueller? Deters? Wait, already said him! Anyone else?

Check Highlands roster this year and you'll see that there are, I believe, only 4 players who didn't play in the FTJFL.

 

Bruns brothers (Dixie) and Streeter Brothers (Cincy St. X). If I'm wrong, someone correct me. Both sets of brothers came in last year.

 

Pretty sure the Streeters played in the FTJFL.

They are, but they could have attended Dixie.

 

Who now attend Highlands and soon to live in Ft Thomas. I heard this very morning that the Bruns, who's mom attended Highlands just bought a house in Ft Thomas. It becomes a very moot where they should be going to school now doesn't it!!!!:thumb:

Why would kids choose to go to SK over Dixie, Scott, Holmes, Holy Cross etc...?O maybe because they are the program in Kenton Co, up and rising program, good coach and the best facilities in NKY and maybe the state!

Maybe because the days when SK was 30-73 in the 90's, a game above .500 from 2000-09 and the slightest step above Scott are still fresh in their head. That kind of legacy doesn't get lived down in a two or three year period.

I would send my kid to Beechwood before SK..Your going to have to have more than 2yrs in a row of winning for most people to buy in..Plus I think parents look more at education than sports when it comes down to it..That's why parents send their kids to HHS, Beechwood, and CovCath..Having very good athletics just adds to it..JMO

The Streeter brothers both played in the Ft. Thomas Jr. Football League. The older brother attended St. X because his Dad had an apartment in Ohio and his Mom lives in Ft. Thomas. His Dad moved to California therefore he had to leave St. X and move back to Highlands, (where he lives) if he wanted to play football.

Hmm let's see....

 

Scott's football program is horrible.

 

Holmes is Covington Independent Public...not a Kenton Co school.

 

Holy Cross is a private school...not a Kenton Co school. And last I checked, they still get kids from Independence.

 

Dixie still gets the better athletes. Next year, when these two are in the same district, you'll see why kids are going to Dixie over SK.
