LCA - NCC Predictions

Tough As Nails.....

You're right. Given the Breds don't get to play the Tigers they have decided to pack it in, and roll over for the Eagles...

Go Breds.. :flame: Win another one for Pango, get Coach Schneider win number 300, and continue your run to a 2005 Class A State Championship!!

Now that the game is just over a day away, I have decided to put my prediction in. The experience and desire for the Eagles is going to be too much for the Breds. Plus I think that the Breds are disappointed to not be playing the Tigers as well.

LCA 49

NCC 21

I would venture to say NCC has as much experience as any team in the state. I hope you're not a LCA fan, and I don't feel like going through the rest of this thread to see if you are.....you might have your feelings hurt come Friday night.

SF25 - well stated!

At this point, ANY team could beat any other team! It is all about preparation by the coahces AND DESIRE of the players!

HS Football could not be any better than right now! :)

Look at some of the match-ups this week:

LCA-NCC, Bardstown-Danville, FtCampbell-OCath, Paintsville-Somerset, LexCath-HHS, Rockcastle-BellCo, HenryClay-Dunbar, etc!!!

You are correct in that there are lots of good match-ups this week.

As for preparation and DESIRE ...........I'll take the team with more talent and skill everytime. ;)

Kudos to Holmes High School, and in particular Covington Superintendent Jack Moreland for letting the Breds use the field for a fraction of the cost they would have been charged by "others".

I have it on good authority that Moreland made this generous offer to NCC because of his respect for Coach Schneider, and the fact that NCC helped out Holmes a few years ago when they were in a tight spot (don't recall the circumstances).

Holmes and Covington Independent Schools deserve a huge :thumb: 's up!!!

Good points. But I do want to clarify something for you if by "others" you may have included Highlands (which I doubt because it would have to be a cold day in Hades for NCC to want to use Highlands field). But in case you did include Highlands, the school is required by an agreement with the City and the funding corporation for the field turf to charge certain rates when others use the field. We are actually trying to build up a little nest egg to pay part of the replacement cost. Thus, the school could not let NCC use it for what I am guessing Jack charged them. Peace and good luck. I'll be cheering for the Breds. Lots of Ft. T kids on that team.

LCA pulled the upset last week I don't think they can do it two weeks in a row....

NCC - 21

LCA - 14

Man I just looked at the LCA-Lex Cath thread from the first game and its hard to believe LCA has made it this far now and beaten a decent team on the way. Looks like LCA has really made the move towards an on the rise program, good luck to them.

I dont necessarily agree with you here APNW...

When you are at the Regional Championships, ALL the teams have SKILL & TALENT - the difference maker is PREPARATION & DESIRE.

I have seen many teams with better AThletes get beat by an inferior, but well-coached and motivated team.

Just my opinion - for what it is worth. :)

Bridge - That LCA team that played LexCath was missing three (3) 2-way starters - It would have been a closer game with them BUT LCA would have still lost the game - LexCath is at a higher caliber than LCA - plain & simple.

But give Coach Rains some credit for beefing up the schedule this year - maybe it will pay off for them in the end.

All teams do not have EQUAL skill and talent.

Sometimes it comes down to the way the ball bounces on a fumble, sometimes it comes down to penalties, or who slips on a play, and IMO all teams have some preparation and desire, but in the end I'll take my chances with the team with superior skill and talent.

Even when upsets happen they don't happen without skill and talent.

So we both agree that both teams have skill and talent. But our disagreement would be which team has the superior skill and talent.

I will take the skill and talent of the Eagles any day.

Leatherneck....

"Others" was not a reference to Highlands. As much as the Ft. Thomas NCC parents would like for that to happen, we know why it won't (at least not in the immediate future).

Thanks for wishing the Breds luck tonight. Good luck to the Bluebirds!! Given I can't seem to accept your many gracious invitations, hopefully we will see one another in Lousiville very soon.... :ylsuper:

That's okay by me and if they win it will because of superior skill and talent at least in that game on that day. Desire and preparation are important but are nothing without skill and talent.

Well, today is game day and a week's worth of debate will soon come to an end. Breds, don't underestimate the Eagles. There definately is a new kid on the playground and he is a tough one! For a school to only have football for 5-6 years and produce a team like LCC has is truly remarkable.

As I posted before, I am pulling for NCC. Good luck to both teams, but a little extra luck to NCC. :ylsuper:
