Trinity 63 Seneca 14

I also want to give a huge dose of salt to Seneca for not allowing us to broadcast the game tonight.

Give it to Manual as well.

Deshaun "Day Day" Butler put a hit on Smith on his last pass in the third quarter. He got help getting off the field. I think that the Seneca coaching staff thought that there was no reason to keep him in to get hurt in a blow -out. I have seen all of Trinity's games (including Highlands) and Demarcus Smith throws the tightest ball of all. That 65 yd pass with such a high arch was a thing of beauty. Division 1 velocity as well.

What is up with that? Did they think it would hurt their gate -- like no blackout??? I don't get it.............

^ Why the blackout?

Anyone else who was at the game think the announcer was a little ridiculous tonight??

To say the very least.

Seneca coach saying hit on qb was a cheap shot (see CJ paper today)... any game goers have insight on such? Also, what was the PA guy doing? Was he dressed like a clown, doing the game in French.... what made him ridiculous?

From where I was sitting I didn't think it was a late hit. Our player was on him just as he released the ball. There was no way he could have pulled up.

Demarcus Smith déroule à sa droite et est abordée par Butler!

Translation: Smith rolls to his right and is tackled by Butler. OUI! OUI!

I was sitting on the Seneca side and the play happenend right in front of me---on about the 20 yard line. Coach Dover's characterization of the tackle as "a cheap, ugly shot" was way off base. The hit was not very hard at all. No late hit was called, rather, the penalty was for helmet to helmet contact. As Rick Bozich said in his column, Smith probably hurt himself when he hit the ground funny. Again, the contact involved in the tackle in no way appeared hard enough to have caused the injury.

The PA announcer acted like he was doing a radio call in house over the school network rather than doing a PA for the game spectators. He spoke way too much. He was quite inaccurate with his calls, was a homer and editorialized (against Trinity) all night.

Well, it's over now. We likely won't see much of them in the future, as they won't be in our district. Good Luck Sonny.

I meant to ask this yesterday when I didn't see the radio listing of the game in the paper. Truly sad when schools do this. I don't think they understand that their school/kids are being promoted as well. Fans from both schools do to tune in to these broadcast.

Better feel lucky that the Ballard game is at T because you would have had the same problem there.

Some quotes made by the Seneca p.a. announcer. "Terrible pass by Trinity quarterback falls incomplete!" "A more than favorable spot by the ref gives Trinity a first down." "Trinity going for more points!" This was after an incomplete pass with second and third stringers in against the Seneca first team defense. "Smith's pass falls incomplete while the Seneca reciever had the Trinity corner beat by at least five yards!"

He never used the players names or numbers. Everything was just Trinity and position. So unprofessional.

NO WAY??!!!!!!!!!! REAL classy and what a great example to set for your young people!

The only time he used the players names was when Trinity put in a new quarterback. So he had a roster. He just chose to try his stand-up act.

... and schools wonder why they get no respect.
