Every knows football is a game of matchups.

 

Yes, Beechwood beat NCC, but that is a rivalry game and even though NCC probably has the better team they didn't execute and I am not sure they believe they can beat Beechwood.

 

Bellevue beat Beechwood, because the match up was favorable.

 

Bellevue couldn't handle NCC tonight because they couldn't matchup up athletes at skill positions (the first game was close strictly because of field positions).

 

I say all this because I believe Beechwood didn't have the athletes to play with a great athletic LCA team.

 

I don't know if NCC can handle LCA or not, but I believe that NCC is a better matchup playing LCA than Beechwood was or Bellevue would have been.

LC has really come along in all sports! I was definately surprised at the margin!

What facts??? I, like other NewCath fans, would love to play Highlands for the simple arrogance that you show. This isn't '97 or '98. I would love to see it, no excuses, no rumors. On the field. If Highlands wins, so be it. They are the better team then. I just would love to see NewCath have that shot.

 

That game is there whenever or if-ever NCC wants it?? Highlands always looks for area games, with the silly district situation they have. Doubtful NCC wants to open that can of worms!!

LCA/NCC looks to be about even from where I am sitting.

This game is not a shocker to me..I've been singing LCAs praises for awhile now..I didn't think this was one of Beechwoods better teams and the upset was a real possibility...The margin of victory and dominance they showed, does surprise me a little...NCC will give em a better game next week, but, I feel LCA will pull it out...

First off, Nice call on the prediction.

 

WOW! I am shocked! I never in a million years would have thought this game would end up like this.

 

LCA came out to play, Beechwood did not, for whatever reason. The game was still a ball game until later in the 3rd. Players who are 8 yards off the line can't make all of your tackles, Beechwood couldn't get anywhere, then they couldn't pass the ball, and LCA didn't need to pass it. I thought I saw Beechwood realize it was slipping and fast after it became 21-7, but after the score that made it 28-7 it was all LCA, Beechwood pretty much knew and LCA took advantage of it.

 

I agree with Guru, the LCA Vs NCC game is a toss up. IMO Beechwood played the state champion, either LCA or NCC.

Bluto, I"ve respected you guys since you came to Louisville and beat CAL, after that game i predicted you all would have a great shot in the playoffs... LCA is the real deal, might as well jump on the bangwagon. This is an impressive win, keep rolling LCA!

Remember NCC lost to Beechwood who got DRILLED by LCA tonight. This is not last year's LCA. It's a far better team.

 

Actually, it is the same team.. Didn't they only lose 3 players last year. As for your all's game against NCC. Good Luck there because NCC has a passing game that will kill you and if you stop that they will just run it down your throat all night. Nothing against LCA but I played against both of these teams in my career and NCC is better.

Yeah and one loss by Beechwood to a District 6 team and all of a sudden it's the worst game they've ever played. What a joke.

 

 

Yes it was a bad loss for the Tigers. I give all the credit to LCA. Since the playoffs went to 4 teams back in 91 I would say Beechwood's average win over these teams were 42-7.

I talked to some people tonight who said they couldn't wait until the season was over for their family member for Beechwood. It sounded like they didn't even care. My point is if you didn't care what had happened why did you even play the game?? That isn't heresay either. That came from a family member from one of the players tonight.

Eagleeye thanks for the updates on the Beechwood game tonight. Congrats on a great win for your program. You guys better play your A game against New Cath like I told you on the phone. This team is for real. I really don't know how this Beechwood team beat New Cath.

I'm shocked ... figured this game would be close. A huge win, the first signature win, for an up-and-coming program.

 

A few more like it and everyone will be rooting for LCA to grow and go to 2A.

Last year after LCA got beat by Beechwood 62-14, these quotes were made:

I guess LCA is still only a couple of lineman away from competing with Beechwood, Danville, NCC, etc.

Like someone said before, they are more than a few lineman away...maybe you were being sarcastic...i hope so....anyways, Good game Beechwood.

Turned out, LCA WAS only a couple of linemen away from, not just competing with, but trouncing Beechwood.

 

Oh, and I want to add that the new linemen that beat Beechwood were Freshmen and Sophomores.
