Ole Miss wins. UK's just not very good

From the prediction thread. If you take off the blue and white glasses, it's really pretty obvious.

IMO, Joker needs to play for the future and either start Newton or Moss, whoever he thinks gives Uk the best chance the next couple of years. This is as good as it will get with Hartline.

I agree. I thought Newton did a decent job last year finishing up the season after Hartline's injury. He has good upside to his game imo, but as you state, Hartline is about as good as he's going to get.

I totally agree. I mean, why not?

3 turnovers were the difference though. Total yards were UK-424 and Ole Miss-301 .

Read a decent piece on another board regarding Hartline and Newton. If anything with Newton in the game, UK relied on their best players to make plays and that was Cobb and Locke. In 152 passes Newton only threw 3 picks. But with him in there they relied on their most talented players to make plays.

Simply they are not going to win with NoodleArm throwing 46x a game.

Some of you guys amaze me.

The Cats did not lose the game because of Hartline. You put up 35 - you're supposed to win. This only the second time in 3 years or so that the Cats have put 35 on an SEC team.

They lost it because they had too many breakdowns as a TEAM. We gifted them 4 TDs. Three turnovers by 3 different people, and a horrible special teams coverage. Add to that some bad penalties, a couple of dropped first down passes and you're normally going to lose.

I will say. The one late hit out of bounds penalty was one of the worst I have ever seen called. The guy was still completely in bounds when the hit was made.

Like others have said, they put of 35, Hartline is not the problem.

The officials weren't that bad. I was sitting with 4 UK people and they all agreed on the replay we couldn't tell if he was just in or just out. But either way it was a hit that didn't have to be made he was clearly stepping out, and they've tried to cut down on those type of unnecessary hits. Also Ole Miss was flagged for 5 holding calls while UK didn't receive one. I understand holding happens every play but if you are calling it that tight on one team the other team should get flagged for it too.

Not at all the play calling is UK's biggest problem. Our secondary has been very poor all year and UK didn't even attempt to exploit it until the game was practically out of reach.

I didn't say the officials were bad. Just that call was horrible. They showed the replay several times, yes he was running out of bounds, but not one part of his body was out of bounds. These guys are incredible athletes, I've seen guys cut it at the last second lots of times. There was absolutly nothing wrong with that hit.

Auburn played UL-Monroe????? How in the world will they ever be prepared for UK, let alone Bama and Arkansas? Fire Gene Chizik now!!!!!! I can rest easy on Saturday, because I know Auburn won't be prepared to take on the Cats, who are now battletested.

Just imagine if UK could some how play Ohio State, Oregon, Oklahoma, and Boise next season all on the road!!! No team in the SEC would be able to hang with them then. Once they conquer the SEC they can add the Steelers and Ravens to the schedule so they will be able to win the national title!!!!

That is so sarcastic!! :irked:

I also admire that in a person.......:sssh::lol::thumb:

imo first of all, although with no talent the Cats have to at least try and shore up that "matador defense", they couldn't tackle my 85yr old mother.

, A few of us had just been going back and forth about UK's schedule and I always get into really sarcastic extremes on here :D. Don't want to offend anyone though, it's all in good fun. :thumb:

:thumb: I agree and as good as Hartline gets is average.
