I've been a die hard honest UK fan since around 80 when my dad and uncle started taking me to games as a kid. I really felt like this year they would be down other than Locke/Cobb. It is what it is. They aren't that good and play in the toughest division in football. Schedule wise they can go and win a small bowl game. I do back Joker in I feel like he will get the talent he wants if given time. The defense has lost so many studs including to the NFL that it's caught up I think. Offense has a couple of weapons but misses some guys up front and don't have a QB they believe in. WR's have been down since Johnson/Burton/Tammie IMO.

The problem is that some of these SEC teams that were supposed to be down as well, might be better than expected. It doesn't bode well going forward. Luckily, Auburn just played UL-Monroe so they won't be ready to play next week and we'll probably beat them because we've played back-to-back solid opponents. That's just the way it works...no questions asked.

Hey a win is a win. And at least two of the turnovers were because Ole Miss popped em in the mouth. But it was a good game and I'm happy to have a win.

Congrats HT. :thumb:

Auburn played UL-Monroe????? How in the world will they ever be prepared for UK, let alone Bama and Arkansas? Fire Gene Chizik now!!!!!! I can rest easy on Saturday, because I know Auburn won't be prepared to take on the Cats, who are now battletested.

Just imagine if UK could some how play Ohio State, Oregon, Oklahoma, and Boise next season all on the road!!! No team in the SEC would be able to hang with them then. Once they conquer the SEC they can add the Steelers and Ravens to the schedule so they will be able to win the national title!!!!

But, going back to the schedule how about just admitting UK isn't very good right now and it wouldn't matter who they played they wouldn't be prepared to take down the big dogs in the SEC. Sure people say they should have beat Ole Miss, but who knows? UK has one of, if not the worst defense in the SEC. The OL is average, the QB is average, the TEs are non-existent. Locke and Cobb are good, but a RB and WR can only take you so far. Matthews and King have looked good in spurts, but they don't get the ball enough to matter. There isn't one player on the defense who would play at UF or Bama IMO, not a single player. The staff is inexperienced, and UK is having to fight all of these things in the toughest and deepest conference in the country.

UK simply isn't that good. If they would of scheduled tougher teams early they still would have lost to UF and Ole Miss plus they would probably only have one win over UL.

I may be in the minority but I don't think Locke is a great every down back. I thought he looked tenative today at times.

UK is very lucky they don't have to play Bama. They would beat the Cats by 200.

UK is not very good.

Hartline is the lightning rod, but the passes he completed against UL, WKU and Akron are now getting picked off by quicker and better defenders. They wont win big with Hartline at quarterback. Misses too many throws on and on...

The defense is a sieve. The LB has been awful.

They are an undisciplined group and have been poorly coached in my opinion.

IMO, Joker needs to play for the future and either start Newton or Moss, whoever he thinks gives Uk the best chance the next couple of years. This is as good as it will get with Hartline.

Joker obviously likes Hartline. I agree with you.

Again, the early season schedule has nothing to do with the last two losses. This is simply a bad football team. It is what it is.

I've felt that way all along. UK can win some games but they just aren't very good this year I don't think unless they can ride Cobb. I would be getting those guys experience.

For the second season in a row, let me just say that I would put Cobb and Locke in the backfield and try to be Michigan

I guess Florida didn't prepare UK for Ole Miss good enough.

Clearly not. Uk was given a glimpse, and swallowed it heartily.
