Question: How would we describe Dixie this year after being trounced by a "down", "mediocre" Highlnads team?? Can't be very positive. Good job Bluebirds, keep your eye on the prize.

I have no problem with the way Dixie has competed this year. They've been in every game down to the wire with the exception of the Highlands game. Am I somehow surprised they lost to Highlands? Nope!

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then. And yes in Dixies district and class. Highlands are the big boys. Nice reference to 8 years ago. I like that:lol:

Pike imo was more impressive on Defense. I stated earlier that he had no business playing D and I meant playing D if he is also trying to play QB. No way can you get the best out of a talent like Pike if you play him both ways against a team like Highlands. He did it effectively against all other teams this yr leading up to the Birds but Highlands has too much SPEED. Dixie is missing about 2 really good players and perhaps they could have matched up a little better this yr. JMO. Go Birds 20n10

I think Fri nights result supports my argument well. Unless you're at a pretty small school, you don't play your stud QB on D. Yeah maybe it'll work out once in a while. Personally I like the direction HHS has gone in last couple of years of not playing guys both ways. Seems to have worked out well for them. Anyway sorry if you took my post as insulting, it wasn't meant to be.

Really because when they beat Highlands in 2002 O'Toole played both ways. I assume you think Highlands are Big boys but maybe I am wrong.

Today? No. However, that's not a requirement. I believe he has the necessary arm strength to make the requisite throws.
