69-6 HHS final from Ft Thomas

 

 

Honestly, I think that it could have been worse than it was! Dixie is lucky it scored.

I was there. Near the sideline and have been there before during Dixie games as I am a fan of many NKY teams and enjoy H.S. football. I have to say I have NEVER, EVER heard a player talk to fellow players, coaches and staff like that QB does. Foul language, bitter and just plain mean. Sorry for telling it like it is. But I believe the Red Colonel fans and their sons are about fed up. How much more can they take? That should have been stopped years ago. Yes, I have played the game. I have coached. So I know what I'm talking about. I know there is frustration on the sidelines, and emotion and tough talk, but I was shocked the first time I saw that behavior on the Dixie sidelines. Now I am just over it.

And no..I am not calling out a single player. I am calling out the program for allowing that to happen and continue. I do believe a certain player was benched at one point because of behavior

 

Dixie has to fix this. No player, no matter how "key" he thinks he is should be permitted to carry on that way. Football is a team sport and no one player should poison the entire team.

As I have said many times before, and I don't have an axe to grind with Dixie, it starts at the top.

To say the least....I know several parents overheard the conversation and some of what Pike was saying in the stands and they were absolutely stunned that the coach took as much as he did and Pike said some of the things he did.

Will such actions and outbursts be something that all those D1 college coaches look bring into their programs?

Why would anyone imply that HHS did not play their best? If any one player on the field was not, wouldn't Coach Dale get them out of the game? Highlands always plays their best no matter who is on the feild. To say that if Dixie had a few breaks they could have won should not be discounted by saying Highlands had a bad game. Good teems make their own breaks. Highlands won 42-14, all breaks included.

Look forward to seeing Towles vs. Pike 2011?

Honest and curious question to the HHS faithful nothing more nothing less:

 

Were you happy with your teams play tonight?

Do you think Dale is happy with the teams performance?

 

No and No...but that tells you where the two programs are at. Both teams are very good regarding there schools and the score is 42-14. No disrespect to the other schools in NKY but last nights game shows how far everybody else is up here in the NKY!

And that sign was cheesy. If you can fill the whole side with red, then there's no need to post sides. We even had some toothless clod jawing with us out on Dixie Highway. I've been going to games at Highlands for 30+ years and I'd never think about doing something like that. So much for making Highlands fans feel welcome.

Pike is an amazing player. A quarterback , and defensive captian may on ocaision need to comunicate with the sideline. their dialoge, no matter how brash it may seem to someone else might be perfectfully normal for those comunicatting.

Highlands was Highlands. The defense strung out the jet sweep all night. Sleep in tomorrow boys!

On a side note. I had to turn off the UK vs. Ole Miss game , Uk 's D couldn't even stop the water boys. The pipeline from Georgia to UK doesn't seem to be working. Maybe someday they will notice the talent in their own back yard !! (Sorry , I needed to vent !!!) Go Birds ! 30n20 ! :thumb:

With the JV and freshman games this week (JV 69-6 HHS, frosh 53-0, I think Towles has a lot more reinforcements to help him at Highlands than Pike will have at Dixie. The class of Towles sets him apart from the brashness of Pike. Both are quality players but one IMO has the temperment that coaches love.

Describing what someone observes from the stands is not bashing. I wish him well but hope his attitude doesn't hold him back.
