OMG I can't believe it, I am stunned, a HHS fan, admitting that CovCath was a better team in 2006 because as he stated, if you have to go back to 97 for a upset.

 

Than he has to mean that CovCath was a better team than HHS in 06, and 06 was only three years ago!

That was a good CCH team but IMO other factors played into the Birds losing that year but I wont go into it because then I wouldnt be staying on the thread topic of Highlands Dominance.

CCH is no where close to beating Highlands (CCH's seniors played HHS very, very close as freshmen as well) , and the silence from the rest of NKY speaks volumes; I'll guess I'll get used to "same ole same ole" each and every year.

Highlands fans do a pretty good job of running off their fellow Bird faithful.....

 

My guess is that the majority of the people who start these stupid threads aren't adults who have contributed directly to the program. They are either directly out of high school, in high school, or have moved into Ft. Thomas for their kids b/c they feel that little Johnny is the next all state player.

The gap is getting wider, not smaller, and that is after the Birds graduated a loaded senior class.

 

Freshman football of '10 means nothing at the varsity level of '11, '12, and '13.

 

If you have to go back to '97 to cite an upset, keep dreaming; that was a a different CCH football program!

Of course someone will beat Highlands eventually, but maybe a better question is what is the thought process going on at other area schools who have remained uncompetitive against HHS for the better part of a decade now? The last thing I want to do is add to the perceived Highlands arrogance here on BGP, but it really seems that many local schools have given up trying to compete - that they've made a conscious decision not to do what it takes. Ryle, Cov Cath & maybe SK seem to be the only schools that truly have the goal of being #1 in NKY.

FYI...Courier-Journal listed Highlands #1 in the state per Litkenhouse ratings...Ryle was 3rd...NCC 9th
