Arroyo finishes the season 17-10.

He looked really good tonite. Retired the last 13 batters he faced.

This weekend if San Diego wins 2 of 3 against the Giants, and Atlanta gets swept by Philly, Padres and Braves would be in a dead heat for the wild card. San Fran wins the west with the #2 seed.

On the basis of a better head to head record, San Diego would travel to Atlanta for a 1 game playoff. If San Diego wins the playoff game they would be the wild card and open in Philly. We would be the 3 seed and open in San Fran.

I, like LRCW, want nothing to do with the Giants and the west coast. I still have nightmares about the games in San Fran last month.

When SF has played Cincy, SF has looked like the best team in the major leagues.

Pirates will win the World Series in 2011, Clippers win the NBA Championship, Lions are the NFL's best team.....Oh wait you weren't throwing out things that are near impossible were you?

Shoot let the Braves play the Reds and I guarantee it's an early exit for Cincy! Even with all the injuries the Braves have suffered they are near unbeatable at home and if they take 2 of 3 from Philly this weekend then I'd be worried about playing them.

No kidding. I think the Phillies are better but my sample size with the Giants is scary. Funny thing is I saw the Reds beat the Giant in June and thought the Giants were just an awful offensive team. Now I'm scared to death of them after they scored 40 runs in 3 games.

It's a shame they won't have home field. They're terrible on the road.

They are quite bad on the road but I'm hoping they pull it together when the postseason starts.

If they can clinch tomorrow then hopefully they'll rest the majority of the players going into the playoffs to make sure everyone is healthy.

It's going to kill the Braves that Prado is out for the season but maybe Conrad can help fill the gap some.

You should worry about getting your Braves in the playoffs. The Braves suck on the road, so you can't guarantee a thing.

They do suck but I can just about guarantee the Braves clinch the WC before Sunday, who knows though because anything can happen!

IF/When the Braves make the playoffs they will play San Fran, I think the Braves can handle them but who knows.

I'll give you one thing. You have to be the most optimistic Braves fan in the world.

Thom said that Reds fans should cheer for the Cubs to beat San Diego? Why? If SD wins the wildcard, we'll have home field against the Padres / wildcard winner.

If the Padres win the WC then the Phillies will play the Padres in the 1st round. If you're talking about the Padres getting past the 1st round then Thom wasn't looking that far ahead. He wants the Braves to win the WC so there is no chance the Reds have to open the playoffs in San Francisco.

Congrats Reds fans. I've refrained from watching them since they went on that really bad spell when I did watch them after not getting to see them on a winning streak. I do have to warn you though, I watch pretty much all the playoffs. I hope I was just being superstitious and not really a jinx.
