October 2, 201015 yr Dusty and company have some awfully tough decisions to make by Wednesday with the way all five starters have been pitching for the last 3 weeks or so.
October 2, 201015 yr If the Reds went 4-1, SF would have had to go 2-3. Pretty tall task the way Cincy has been playing, and pretty hard to think SF would go 2-3 the way they have been playing. Possible? Sure. Likely? Not at all. I agree it was a tall task, but it was still possible before throwing a game. My entire point is if SF is on as much of a roll as people are saying the Reds were going to Philly no matter what and still had time to rest guys. The only way the Reds could go to SF was if SF lost a few games and Atlanta lost a few. The only real possibilties if the Reds went 5-0 or 4-1 were home for Atlanta and at Philly. I don't think it was crazy to think the Reds could go 4-1. At SF if they went 4-1 was almost impossible.

I'd use Bailey and Wood in the pen and not be afraid to go to Wood early and often. You're right that they're tough decisions though
October 2, 201015 yr I think the best case scenario for the Reds and what you guys should root for is for the Phillies to sweep the Braves and the Padres to sweep the Giants. Then root for the Padres to beat the Giants in a 1 game playoff to win the West. The Giants would then get the Phillies and the Reds would play the Padres.

I wouldn't like the chances of going out to the West coast to play a smoking hot SD team if that were to happen.

October 2, 201015 yr Yeah that seems likely. I know it's very unlikely, but it is still possible.
