What has happened to Boone? When I was in school (80s) they dominated. Has the addition of Ryle and Cooper hurt them or is it something else?

 

It is called coaching... Either you get on the bus or you get left behind..Coach Thompson just won't change his philosophy..I feel bad fo the kids at Boone.

Boone has been shown to be a pretender, and yes something has got to give. As good is Highlands is, when you are the bigger school to be blown away at the sport that the Rebels take pride in the most is just flat out embarassing.

History, I've been trying to figure out which NKY team you support. I believe I detect a hint of real frustration in your post above... are you a Boone County grad and/or supporter?

When his receivers are covered he has run very effectively the last couple of starts. OL for HHS played great and downfield blocking was outstanding. The block by Sheehan to spring Towles on his long TD run was impressive!

Ouch. I would think the natives in Florence are a bit restless with this showing at home vs. the Birds.

Who knew... Highlands seems to play ever better away from home. That should bode well for the 'Birds come playoff time.

Boone got killed on offense and defense tonight. Highlands did absolutely anything they wanted tonight. Highlands is a great football team and has the best coaches. Thompson looked very bad throwing i think 6 balls and the only one that was completed was too the other team. Terrible coaching by Boone tonight. I still believe they will/can finish they year 7-3. They have Campbell Conner and Cooper the next 3 games which will be easy wins. Then i think they will handle Sk, and Ryle and Dixie will be tough games.

The game tonight from the Rebels was flat out disgusting! The kids have the will and the want to, but the game plan is for the 80's. Any half decent coaching staff will know what Boone does and can probably stop it with ease. The defense is getting over worked because the offense is simply at a stand still. What I really don't understand is how the offensive coordinator continues to ignore a 6'4 270 pound tight end. If you can't find ways to get the ball in his hands, then seek help to do so because it's a waist of productive talent. The offensive line can't block more than what's coming at them so you can't blame the Oline for lack of scoring. I honestly think Boone has more punts than pass attempts, and if that's acceptable then that program is in some serious trouble. Boone is not on a HH level (player and coaches combined), but they can make a better showing than what was displayed tonight. Highlands pretty much did what they wanted to on both sides of the ball tonight and completely controlled all 4 quarters, even with the subs. As good as HH looked, I still don't think they're at last years level at this time, but they are still very good and will be for years to come.
