I like Austin Trapp, #76 for the Birds. I've heard some discussions between players that he has been working hard and is practicing for a tackle eligible play for this coming season. Some may argue that doesn't meet the criteria for a WR, but I'll go out on a limb on this one.

Sorry there is no disrespect here but come on. I know the kids think maybe it would be fun and I'm sure they will practice it(maybe on their own time) but lets be realistic here. It won't ever happen in a close meaningful game and honestly I don't think it won't be in Dale's best interests to run a play like tackle eligible up 5 or 6 scores......:idunno:

Anytime you have a kids nicknamed "Big Country" and "The Cowboy" something interesting is going to happen. Now I can see Andrew "The Cowboy" Abner being a pretty good receiver in NKY the next couple of years. Really does a nice job of putting his body in perfect position to catch the ball on every throw. Hard to teach that at the Frosh and Varsity level.:thumb:

I thought this thread was about top wide receivers the Highland thread jackers have took over again.

I can count on 1 hand the number of "trick plays" that Dale and Highlands have ever run. Rarely ever need them and basically not their style.

 

I have seen the Birds run some swinging gate extra point coversions and early in the game onside kicks.

Must be very careful not to Thread Jack here:rolleyes: but I think Austin Sheehan of Highlands will be a very fine receiver in NKY next year along with 2 very good(Tall) receivers in Jac Collinsworth and David Christian.

 

#8 will have the luxury of having a combo of receivers who can Stretch the field(Sheehan) to a couple of tall 6'-3"-6'-4" receivers who can Spread the field.

The one during the Mud Bowl was pulled off nicely.

I went to school with a Trapp and he was a very big boy.

 

Very big is an understatement. I remember delivering pizza to the Trapp household. Three people, three large pizzas. I bet they rolled those suckers up like burritos. I have no idea how he fit in one of those desks.
