People from Louisville say they are from Louisville. Same with Lexington. NKY is a large metro area, it just isn't home of one major city. Might be a point if we said we were from South Cincinnati...

I say Northern Kentucky because if I say I reside from Park Hills or Fort Wright or Edgewood or Fort Mitchell most would say, "Where the hell is that?" Northern Kentucky gets the job done.

I guess this depends on who's asking and where the asking is going on. If I'm meeting someone here in Bardstown and they ask me where I'm from, that's what I say. They already know I'm from Kentucky, based on a number of easily observable characteristics (which is usually the case with most anybody else in the state).

I always say, "Cincinnati"....Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky are like they're own little state. Nothing like the rest of KY, and nothing like the northern parts of Ohio.
