Cincy played better in the 2nd half, but not sure how much prevent the Pats were playing.

I'm not sure why I picked this one to be close. Bill Belichick vs Marvin Lewis with the entire offseason to prepare is like watching Mike Tyson vs Bobby Fischer in a chess match.

Mixed bag of feelings on this one. Thought the Bengals had the stuff to compete, and possibly beat, the Pats today. The way it ended up, Cincy's O put up 24 against the Pats...and their D gave up 24 to NE as well. The two returns were the difference. There's going to be a lot of people bash Carson about the pick 6, but I'm not worried about that. Every starting QB in the league is going to throw multiple INT's this year, and there's going to be some that are taken back the other way.

But, what I'm really concerned about is the D. I realize they were playing against some good wideouts, but come on. Brady didn't look like he was rushed hardly at all, and picked the secondary a part. And the alignment for the one Welker TD was horrible IMO. It looked like they had 2 guys covering 3 receivers!

Hopefully things get better before the Ravens come to town next week.

The Bengals need: a new coach, a new QB, a new defense and a new offensive line. Other than that, they look to be pretty tough this season.

I'd like to see if you feel this way after week 10 or so, maybe even before then, but there are still tough games ahead.

Lewis didn't allow the KO return for a TD, and didn't tell his team to come out flat which is exactly what they did. I'm sorry but you can't put that on the coach.

Palmer did toss up a pick 6 but that was a great play by the LB. Remember it next time.

Owens dropped a few passes that should have been cought.

Honestly the biggest problem today was special teams and defense. I THINK the special teams will be fixed, and I'm almost positive the defense will; they'd better be, bc they'll be tested next week.

They play like they did today and they'll be 4-12 or 5-11 this season...

Didn't get to see the game but how did Owens do?

Gresham and Nugent were positives. Ocho and Palmer with some nice numbers. I wouldn't put a lot of stock in that though as a majority of it came while down 28 and 21 points in the 2nd half. The defense was pretty much a no show for the game. If the shoe was on the other foot we would be saying that the final score was not indicative of the game. The Benglas made their hay in the division last year. Looks like it will take another 6-0 campaign again.

Game over for 2 hours and we have 9 posts prior to mine? Does that tell us anything?

My only logical response to that is DUH!......... I had another point blank response but it's not BGP appropriate.

One good thing about the gals getting smoked. Mrs. Crunch was so disgusted, in the 2nd quarter said she couldn't watch this crap anymore and went in the kitchen and started cooking. mmmm.

The Bengals lost the game up front on both sides of the ball. I mean they got pushed all over the field..This Bengals team is in for a long season. This team didn't team didn't even show up.

Bengals just didn't look ready to compete in a regular season game. We'll see how they look going forward...tough loss today, but it's just one game. We'll see if they can get going, or if that's what kind of team they'll be in 2010. I think we'll see a better effort next week. And, I think the offense will improve as they get more reps together.

Hope your right about the offense. Defense played worse than the O though.
