They showed some us some good things in the 2nd half. I'm not ready to quit on them already. Palmer looked like crap in the 1st half but came around after a while.

I'm not going to read too much the O did after being down 28 points. Fools gold at best

Good point.

Hope your right about the offense. Defense played worse than the O though.

They didn't look anything like the defense from last season...the Bengals were a physical team. They hit as hard as anyone I watched last season. That's what I expect to see going forward.

Who knows though...my thoughts on the Bengals prior to season were that it wouldn't surprise me if they ended up in the Super Bowl or finished 6-10.

Lose one game and the sky is falling. Everyone relax and realize it's one game. We aren't going to play Tom Brady every game and Palmer looked good today outside of that pick 6.

I just think back to the thread from the 1st game last year. I'm not making any judgments yet.

The team didn't quit, and they've got all of the tools on offense, the D just got the team in too big of a hole early on.

It's got to be disappointing for Bengals fans to lose in the fashion that they did, but it should be no surprise at all to lose the season opener in New England. Maybe this will be a wake up call for the Bengals...they have to flash the physical, smash mouth form that allowed them to sweep the division in 2009.

I wouldn't say Palmer looked good. Seeing him move the offense and put up some points is definitely better than them getting nothing going, so I don't want to completely write it off. But, I also don't want to give him too much credit for lighting it up after the team was behind 31-3 in the third quarter. Additionallly, 50-60 of those yards came on a meaningless hail mary to end the first half.

I think it will be a mistake for the Bengals to get to infatuated with TO, Ocho and Gresham at the expense of their identity as a physical, smash mouth, running football team. On the contrary, I think they should pound Benson, loosen up the defense and exploit that in the passing game.

Was it much different than the thread from the last game they played?

What can we say........ Been there before haven't we? I'm sure some things will improve over the next few weeks in some areas. But, this is an organization that is very bad from top to bottom. I thought the Pats came out and smacked them in the mouth and the Bengals couldn't respond until the game was basically over.

Rough start to the season, but I did not expect the Bengals to win a season opener @ New England anyway. It was a very disappointing first half, but I thought Carson's arm looked good. Both line's got worked today, but I'm not too down on this team yet. Week 2's game against Baltimore is going to be HUGE.

Will be interesting how the game plays out tomorrow night. In the event Baltimore wins, I think that it would make next week possibly the most important week 2 game in recent memory for the Bengals. A loss to Baltimore at home would be difficult knowing that you have to go there later in the season as well and you've started 2 games back in the North.

Just as important would be the fact that the Ravens beat a solid (and hyped) Jets team in NY...

No doubt. Imagine if both go into that game 0-1. That will be a bloodbath to stay out of the cellar.

As bad as I hate to, I'm rooting for the J E T S, Jets, Jets, Jets.:D

I'd disagree with you slightly on this. To me, if you'd continue to pound the ground game on first and/or second down, you'd put this team into too many predictable passing situations. I'd rather see them pass first, build a lead and draw the safeties further away from the line of scrimmage...and then be able to give them a healthy dose of Ced. (Similar to what the Steelers have done with Big Ben and their running game)
