Trinity 22 Elder (OH) 20

Featured Replies

Maybe not the most talented Elder team compared to the past few years but a great test for the young Rocks. Great Game!

Congrats Rocks on a hard earned win!! You showed more poise than many teams I have watched before on that field.

Marching 64 yards in 3:33 and picking and choosing the right calls. You should be very proud!! I know we Alums are!!

Then it's time to get back to business for next week as Cincy St. X totally dominated the Tigers. Staying together as a

tight knit team will be crucial. The Brothers for Life motto showed tonight when adversity struck, but you hung together for that last winning drive!!

GO ROCKS!!

Does Trinity and Elder have a contract to play each other in future years? Seems like a very nice matchup.

Congrats Trinity, way to do KY proud!!

Wow... impressive!

Elder is now on the ropes in terms of making the playoffs, just like Colerain last year when they missed out after losing two early-season games and winning the rest.

The Elder and Colerain scenerios are much different. Elder has plenty of chances left to make some serious Harbin hay in their own conference. A two loss Panthers team is a LOCK to make the playoffs. But, that's a tall task. This could easily turn into a 6-4 or 5-5 type team.

Wow! One of the most exciting games I've ever seen at Trinity. T led the whole game until about 3 and half minutes to go when #5 for Elder caught a middle screen, broke a tackle and scored from about 30 yds out to give Elder their first lead, 20-16. T returned the ensuing kickoff

to their 36 or so, and then embarked a classic game-ending drive to win it at the buzzer.

I don't believe Elder was called for a single penalty the whole game, nor do I recall them having a turnover. Thus, T had to earn this win.

T made what I think was their only TO to give Elder the ball at midfield which led to Elder's TD to give them the lead.

Elder was very well coached IMO and they didn't bite on plays that perhaps would be successful against lesser opponents of T.

You hear a lot about Quick and Hatcher for T but do not underestimate the QB, Wright. He shows uncommon poise for a soph and has a quick release.

All in all, a very satisfying come-back win for such a young team.

Great post. Quite the impressive accolades - especially in view of your history and the # of games (you played in) as well as witnessed on that field. This is indeed a very very special collection of young men. No Wonder Coach B is so high on them. Maybe Alan was on to something about "Legends". Outstanding.

A little surprised this one was this close, but anytime you can pick up a W over Elder is huge.

Congrats to the Rocks and way to represent the state. Next week will be a tougher matchup. Ben Coffaro is a good RB, but Connor Hundley of X is a man among boys.

Isn't Quick a wr? If so it would make sense he'd get less touches than a rb. From the little I've seen he impacts the game whether or not he touches the ball. Major talent.

Officially he is a wr but gets several chances to run the ball with sweeps and screens.

In three games Wright is 66 of 81 throwing the ball-------81.5%. I really think he can be a tremendous QB. He seems to have all the tangible and intangible tools.

I listened to a little of the game on the radio during the first half. When I heard the 18-0 at half I thought.....snore! Second half and last seconds must have something?!!

It was 10-7 at half. Final seconds were indeed something.

Folks seem to forget this T team is very very young. No question about their talent - ability, and now their Heart. They should be allowed to progress in their own due time. Hopefully they will surpass all accolades. There is something to be said about the accumulation of snaps - and experience. It is a long road - let's not push them too hard. The Coaches will see to that.

BTW - great article in the paper.

It was 10-7 at half. Final seconds were indeed something.

Sorry I had a moment there. I got my games confused :lol::lol: I was switching back and forth from the X broadcast to the T broadcast. 18-0 at half for X game.

Sounds like a great game. Congrats to the Rocks!
