Just a little Reds math I borrowed somwhere else, that shows you what would have to happen for the Cardinals to win the Central Division without a tiebreaker.

 

 

Reds lead by 7 games.

 

If Reds go 5-25(.167), and finish 82-80, Cards must go 14-18(.438).

If Reds go 8-22(.267), and finish 85-77, Cards must go 17-15(.531).

If Reds go 12-18(.400), and finish 89-73, Cards must go 21-11(.656).

If Reds go 15-15(.500), and finish 92-70, Cards must go 24-8(.750).

If Reds go 17-13(.567), and finish 94-68, Cards must go 26-6(.813).

If Reds go 20-10(.667), and finish 97-65, Cards must go 28-4(.875).

 

Does anyone have the updated stats? I love seeing this stuff...

Yeah, they should never have less than 20,000 there. But it obviously happens. I would think fans would want to be a part of this. It has been electric at the ballpark despite not having a ton of fans there. It was a blast on Tuesday.

They are saving up their money to buy those expensive playoff tickets.

Attendance issues comes down to two things, school starting and it costs at least $200 to take your family to a game. I can't do it that often.

Haha yes, those ticket prices are ridiculous. I haven't been to a ton of games this year but my friends wants to go to the last game of the season, so I'll be at that one and hopefully one play off game. Maybe two if they make the World Series. :thumb:

 

Oh and BTW, students get half price tickets from now until the rest of the seaon.

I will be at playoffs games for sure but I would much rather watch from my couch on my big HD tv for free then pay $80 for a game.

I'm hoping to get in the company's seats for one game. If not, I'll be parked in front of the TV. Either way it's going to be cool.

I am not sure how last night's crowd stacks up, but the 19,000 or so the night before was the 4th best attendance that night in the league and outdrew the home crowd the first place Atlanta Braves had. You can't look at the attendance based on what you want it to be. Look around the league and see how it compares. I don't think week night games in September are going to draw the big crowds. The Reds attendance is in the top 5 increases in baseball this year. If the Reds make the playoffs, next year you should see better attendance because the season ticket base will increase.
