This St. Xavier Freshman team is loaded with talent. Probably second only to Trinity in 6A and third in the state behind Trinith and Higlands. The Buses (plural) will role into Ft. Thomas despite the intimidating circumstances. I look for the Tigers to play tough with the Bluebirds and possibly escape with a narrow win as they did last year. This freshman game is great for both schools. A fitting introduction to Kentucky High School Football for the players of both programs.

Does this count as scheduling one of the Louisville Big Boys. This is a game right?

You'll have to check with History for an official ruling, but based on previous posts, he/she may say something like:

* No, it doesn't count, as it is only on the freshman level, not Varsity.

* If the Freshman can play one of the Louisville teams, why can't varsity?

* See if the Freshman-schedule-maker can work on the Varsity schedule next year, and it will get done.

History, please feel free to add your own twist to the question, as I am sure I missed a good one!:p

This game last year was the season opener for the HHS Freshman and was lots of fun ! Lots of fans travelling, big game crowd, Saturday night....ahhh, seems like it was just yesterday....but the two point loss still stings ! Go Baby Birds !

It certainly counts!

The other two points are exactly correct. No twists. Just straight forward comments. Just shocked certain classes and teams can afford to travel, but others can't. :p Highlands- quit making excuses-play Trinity and or Louisville St. X at the VARSITY level.

More proof that HRI OAOAOA. :D

From what I've heard, he is splitting time w/ Harris (WHO NEWCATH WOULD LOVE TO HAVE) and another as the top back. For me that speaks volumes about the skill of the other two backs because Hayes was one of the best Jr. High backs that I have seen. I haven't seen Harris run, nor the other back, but for them to get carries ahead of Hayes makes me think that their backfield is unreal.

I predict they will become sophomores next year!:D

I heard Drew Houliston and Thomas Wrobleski are being counted on pretty heavily, too! Can anyone post a positional breakdown of the O & D?

Thank you, I've been working on that for a few days now. I was thinking it was some " legal talk" or something.

I couldn't figure it out either but I knew it would be witty.

From practices & the 20 minutes of scrimmage, it would appear as follows:

QB - Houliston (Hergott in goal line formation)

RB - Harris, Wrobleski & Hayes

WR - Greene & Hergott

TE - True & Hope

Others will mix in via different formations.

Less familiar with the D, but it seemed like Ayers made some plays from the LB position and I'm sure many of the above will also play D. Expect to see lots of fresh bodies getting reps.

LN sure is smart. He just can't defend the indefensible of a team that has won 19 state championships, yet has only played the other big power in the state twice. You know the other team called the Shamrocks that vie with the Bluebirds for the most state championships. This needs to be called out at every opportunity, and will be.

Play Trinity or pretend to be the bully on the block, but we know you are afraid of you know who.

the only weak spot i could see on this HHS team is at QB and the grades of some of the player but i have been wrong before they are only 9th graders .
