August 27, 201016 yr Gomes's sample size has been basically all season. We see what he does which is nothing. You are judging Heisey on less then 30 at bats which is a very very very small sample size IMO. Still think he deserves a shot at lead off tonight and start in LF. That's all I'm trying to say. Less than 30 AB's? Heisey has close to 130 AB's on the year. Gomes hits well against LHP. What exactly are you trying to achieve here?
August 27, 201016 yr Janish still maintaining a nice, respectable .278 BA and a .366 OBP, both stats pretty close to where they were when he took over for OC. His clutch hitting saved the Reds in the ninth inning against the Giants. In my opinion, the slick-fielding Janish deserves a lot of accolades for the success the team has had since Cabrera's injury. Not bad play at all for a guy who can't hit a lick. lol
August 27, 201016 yr Only question I have is why not Heisey in RF leading off with the Cubs throwing a lefty. Phillips is obviously not ready, and I'm looking forward to seeing Valaika get 4 AB or so 2 reasons: 1. Heisey is hitting .160 vs lefties 2. Bruce only has one sac bunt all year Plus Bruce could lead off with a home run and the Reds would have a crooked number on the scoreboard.
