Actually you are correct for once... I have several Muslim friends.. I rent some business property to a Muslim. Best renter I've ever had and I am currently considering a good job offer from a Muslim, but I wouldn't give Obama the time of day....

I just have a problem with people that were not born in this country trying to come here and change the way we do "business". It's like they want to bring their homeland here so "they" can be more comfortable. I have traveled internationally, and I could NEVER fathom moving to that country and trying to change their language, or set up a place of worship that demonizes the residents of that country. It is truly unbelievable what is going on in this country right now.

 

I feel that McVeigh was not a religious issue whatsoever, and that's why imo it's a bad comparison. He was dealt with swiftly and permanently. Why would the U.S. and our communities embrace a house of worship that has hatred toward Westerners (US)? If we keep allowing other cultures to come to our country, then this place, as we know it now, will cease to exist. Sad really..........

I can be solidly against Fred Phelps and his little den of loons and their unnecessarily provocative protests at the funerals of fallen heroes and not be against Baptists coast-to-coast.

 

I can believe that the proposed mosque at ground zero is an unnecessary provocation and a genuinely bad idea... and not be against every other proposed mosque in the U.S.

I'd guess pretty much most all of us can claim ancestry to a group that has come to America, and faced the "not born in this country" bias. I guess, as well, they fought to put in place their cultural roots in their new country, and feel comfortable and familiar in a new place. I haven't seen anyone trying to change the English language. If you're speaking of Spanish as a proposed second official language, I still fail to see what this has to do with Muslims. Mosques have existed in the USA for a LOOOONNNNNGGG time, peacefully. I'm not sure how that equates to demonizing the residents of a country.

He may not be, but what about the people who kill and harm at abortion clinics? What about people who kill and hate in the name of the Christian religion for any reason? Does it have to be a high-profile event with thousands killed to be considered significant/

 

And really, where would we be if we had not allowed other cultures to come to our country? What of the very reasons that the USA came to be? Are those things not points of precious consideration?
