My stance is the same on this one as the Ground Zero one...

Mine as well.

I found that quite interesting as well.

My question is, who is the "our" they're talking about?

If "they" live here, isn't it "their" country, too?

But "I" live here, isn't it "my" country too? :p

I'm bothered by the fact that I live anywhere near to any dolts who think they have the right to stop anyone of any religion from making their place of worship on their own property. If I'm not mistaken, there is a Lutheran Church, a Church of God, and a Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall all within a mile or so on Hopeful Church Road. Why is there any reason there can't be a mosque built in there as well??

I guess I could see it if there have been problems in other cities/towns that have Islamic mosques but I haven't heard of any problems.

They have a right to build...but don't the other residents have the right to protest it, if they choose?

From what I am able to glean from the article, my position is different from my feelings about the GZ mosque.

Absolutely. I don't think anyone is saying differently.

One of our most cherished rights is the right to show our ignorance. I wish some would choose not to exercise it quite so often.

I think there could potentially be legitimate reasons to protest the construction of a mosque in certain instances. "Americans need to stop the takeover of our country", however isn't one of them.
