I would assume zoning issues and the like would be appropriate for protest.

 

If the only reasoning is because it's a Mosque, while they still have the right to do so, they are, for lack of a better term, displaying their ignorance IMO.

When you're talking about rights you don't really need any to protest, do you? You can protest just about anything for any reason, or no reason.

I wasn't talking about this particular mosque.

 

And the grounds are irrelevant. They have the right to protest regardless of their reasoning, which is what I believe MJ was initially asking.

Grounds do not really matter. I would imagine that they have the right to protest it, simply because they don't want it in their community. As long as they are not affecting traffic or on private property, I would image that they have the right to protest it on whatever grounds they want.

I would like to know who/how this is being funded. I really wish this could go to the voters of the community. They were already run out of the Mt. Zion area a few years ago. Wonder why? I believe the GZ location also has funding issues/questions?? Why can't these people just move to Dearborn, MI? They already have their own community set up. Just hard for me to endorse a religion that likes to harm innocent American people.

What good is a protest if you have no chance?

 

A valid protest in my mind is one that is trying to sway a decision. Say a company has Glen Beck or Dr Laura as a spokesperson and people want to show the company that such a rep could cause them to lose business. That's a valid protest because the company gets to make a choice.

I fully understand the passion behind the Islam issue. Its a tough pill to swallow when we realize that the Constitution gives them the right to have a Mosque wherever a church is allowed. However, it's the gig we signed up for as Americans.
