Mosque proposal for Florence, Kentucky criticized

Right, but Judism and Islam both believe there is a different path that leads to the Father....So how do we know that Jesus is the only way? Couldn't they have it right, and we have it wrong?
That's where faith comes in, and I don't mean that to sound flippant. In my mind I believe totally that Christ is the way.

Do you know about any radical Jewish extremists that want to kill all the infidels?

You have it right, though with the wrong emphasis. "Radical" and "extremists" actions/beliefs shouldn't be used to judge all.

It is still the same God.

Thomas Merton (Good Catholic) says that the pursuit of God is in itself pleasing to God. How do we know they are all not pursuing the same God.

I don't recall the God that I worship offering eternal happiness and 75 virgins to anyone who will sacrifice themselves to mass murder innocent civilian non-combatants?? Certainly no Biblical scholar, but I recall far less resulting in Eternal Suffering??

You don't recall God telling the Israelites to kill all the women and children of a conquered people? To bash the heads of the little children against the stones? It is in there.

And what does that have to do with the post from StickerMann?

No, but he did destroy entire cities without second thought....:idunno:

Neither are the people who wrote the Bible, but you seem keen on taking them at their word....

If you don't believe in the Bible as an absolute truth, are you just supposed to pick and choose the parts that you want to believe?

Sounds pretty much like every Christian I have ever known.

As it should. Without that faith, you are not practicing Christianity. You are practicing humanism.

I was talking about picking and choosing what parts you like.

Must have left that out in Sunday School??

I am surprised that this thread is still rolling.
