July 31, 201016 yr Phillips 4 Cabrera 6 Votto 3 Rolen 5 Gomes 7 Bruce 9 Stubbs 8 Hanigan 2 Arroyo 1 I'm going to start complaining every day Dickerson isn't brought up. I thought he should have been brought up to start the ATL series as I had posted earlier in the thread. So this is day 2... And there's no reason Lance Nix isn't in the lineup.
July 31, 201016 yr Reds still lead the National League in hitting at .272 average, I believe that's 4th overall in baseball. They are 11th in pitching in the National League with a team ERA of 4.12
July 31, 201016 yr Francisco Cordero stats by Catcher: R Hernandez: 25.1 innings, 17 earned runs, 6.04 ERA, 15 saves. 5 blown saves (75%) Hanigan/Miller: 21.2 innings, 4 earned runs 1.66 ERA, 12 saves. 1 blown save (92%) I don't put too much into those stats. His issue is walks. Unless the catcher has complete control over what pitch he throws its all on Co Co.

July 31, 201016 yr I said it eight weeks ago. It is time to relegate Choke O to mopping up. Give the chump no more relevant innings. Let some combo of Andrusek(sp?), Arthur, and Massett finish games in the 7th, 8th, and 9th. I'd have more faith in 41-yo Russ Springer, or TV talk show host Jerry Springer for that matter. Hell, I bet Yoko (Ono) has bigger onions than Coco. He is such a wuss. Instead of challenging hitters with his stuff, he nibbles on the outside like I would with my 70mph heater. Enough is enough. The fact that he is being paid $12 million a year is mo longer a good reason to leave him in there to put wins in jeopardy(which he always does) or to lose games. Anyone with me? I am 100% with you on this.

Wake up Dusty, Stubbs is killing this team.
July 31, 201016 yr The entire pitching staff is likely better with Hanigan behind the plate. All the stats I have seen comparing pitching numbers with the 2 catchers behind the plate bear this out.
July 31, 201016 yr I really don't care either way. I just get a kick out of the bi polar reactions from either side when the Reds win or lose. This team is a year ahead of schedule, and I will enjoy the race as much as my 6 day old little girl will allow... Out of curiosity what makes next year their year? Do people think Bruce and Stubbs will be that much better? Is Votto going to take another step? Couldn't he and Rolen fall off a little and negate any progress those two make. What could they expect out of the SS position? Do people expect the C spot to be as productive? What about Rhodes? There are more questions for next year than this year in a very winnable division this year.
July 31, 201016 yr Guys I am heading off to the ballpark. Let's hope for a win today and tomorrow and hopefully we will have something good to talk about on here.

Rhodes is a luxury whose spot will be filled if he makes a decision to move on. # 1 reason is pitching depth. A Rotation that involves a healthy Volquez, a Cueto who gets better every outing, a Leake with a year under his belt, a Bronson who will continue to do what Bronson does, and a Wood with a full year under his belt. The bullpen will have a foundation of Bailey, Chapman, Smith, Masset, Ondrusek. This team is a winning team all while throwing out 4 different Rookie pitchers. It's been clear for a while that the Reds have been building for 2011. Being in the mix this year is only a plus.

July 31, 201016 yr Great start... Bronson has a couple of these a year...this might be one of those days.
July 31, 201016 yr Great start... A hit on the swinging bunt and to think I get ragged on for giving the HS kids a hit on a bunt!
