When were Carp and Garcia not in form?

Carp wasn't in his three starts going into the break and Garcia had been shaky for a few starts in a row.

Pete Rose should be in the Hall of Fame !!!

They showed the video of Pete's record breaking hit, then showed him in the stands and he got a standing ovation, it was pretty awesome.

You all know that I am a big Heisey fan, but man is he one of the best PH in the majors?

They showed a stat that he is tied for pinch-hit HRs and had a big hit and RBI tonight. To bad it turned out to not help them win.

Although it was muggy, just a great environment to watch a baseball game. I looked at the radar before we left Maysville and I knew Cincinnati should have no rain problems, but we had to drive though some blinding rain just getting to GABP.

Strasburg seemed to go to a 3 ball count to quite a few batters, but showed how good he is by limiting the damage to nothing until he ran out of gas in the 6th.

Reds had their chances and the fireworks snafu was rather amusing because everyone thought it was gone.

I'd be worried. They have pulled off 7 straight against the Dodgers and Phillies and they are still without: Ludwick, Freese, Lohse, and Penny. Lohse and Ludwick will be back by the end of the month. Matt Holliday is the best hitter in baseball since June 18th, and Carpenter/Garcia are returning to form.

Jay has been one of their hottest hitters. I don't see Ludwick coming back as being that beneficial.

Average wise, your right. The rest is debatable. I love Jay though, kid is a stud. Hope he still gets time. Like they say though what a great problem to have.

Man we sure do miss Rolen!

Cairo batting .440 in last 10 games. What is hurting the Reds is basically playing with a 24 man roster in Rolen's absence. I am guessing his prognosis is a return to the lineup shortly.

Cairo mangled a couple balls hit his way last night.

His glove is hurting the Reds more than his bat.

Hernandez in at 1B for Votto.

Glad to see Hernandez back. Votto could use a day off.

Let's hope for a big win today. Hopefully Volquez does not regress in his second start. If Volquez pitches as lights out as he did last time I think the Reds might scare a little fear in the rest of the National Leage.
