July 20, 201016 yr I heard somewhere earlier that the team has to decide what to do with Matthews jr. Evidently he has to be promoted by Saturday to the big league club, or be released. What do you all think they will do? Will he be up and Nix sent down? It's not that he would have to be released. He would have the option to opt out.

The stats I heard on Nix, if you throw out three games of his, leaves him with really bad numbers. But- - If there were any indications Matthews was still a bad clubhouse guy, then no way - let him go.

July 21, 201016 yr They were discussing him possibly replacing Heisey. I suppose that wouldn't be bad. Gives them a veteran down the stretch off the bench and Heisey would likely be better served playing everyday in Louisville.
