She said it was a mistake, but I guess she was tired of seeing her husband scream and yell just about every week while watching Bardo take off down the sidelines. The most electric moment in that game IMO. A fighter jet could've done a fly over and we still wouldn't have heard it after that play.....

Bardo's long run was great , my favorite player had a pick, sack , and 11 tackles , all the players played great that night.

I still have it and my son keeps asking me why I am keeping it on DVR and i keep telling him it probably was one of the greatest Highlands victorys of all time.

I don't want to beat this "almost dead " horse to death but those two games were very similar. Both opposing teams were physically , much larger than Highlands , heck , some BS players were so big , they probably had their own zipcode. As for Cinti St. X , go to the replay and read the size difference "in the trenches". I seem to recall the difference to be about 60 lbs and about 6 inches across the board. The games were not decided until the very end of the forth quarter and Highlands won both hard fought contests , and there was plenty at stake, vs BS (a playoff game that would end the KY. win streak while not advancing in the playoffs, therefore, they would not have a shot at the altimate goal of a state champioship. This Cinti St. X game had no bearing at all in the Ky. playoff picture , but it was awesome that HHS beat a nationally ranked team , that everyone thought was going to whip HHS, even the reporter covering the game thought it was going to be an X over H blowout.

 

The reporter was mad because he had to arrive at DCMS. extremely early to get a parking spot ,( "swim club") ,(he didn't take the bait ). Then he said he wasn't very happy covering this expected lobsided game after seeing the size difference of the two teams , while they were warming up.

 

In conclusion , he said it was one of the "coolest post game celebrations that he had ever been a part of " and if your wondering who the reporter was that covered the game , it was Rick Broering ,

The biggest difference was against BS the Birds were the prohibitive FAVORITE....against St. X, they were the prohibitive UNDERDOG. It's hard to be FLAT when you're the Dog. HHS played flat against BS and INSPIRED against St. X.

Easy there, KYBlue! UCRN, a nearly-distinguished HHS alumnus, was just was just offering an insight into the two games. He could never be accused of attempting to take any success away from the birds. Unless you go way back to his playing days, but that's an entirely different thread!

It seems that this issue, which has sparked so much debate on BGP and elsewhere, will finally get settled one way or the other. Maybe not on Monday, but sometime soon. I've been a member of BGP since 2003 and a BGP follower since 2002, and I can't recall any football-related story that has generated more emotional discussion (on both sides) than the Mike Mitchell eligibility issue and its consequences.

 

Does anyone know if these meetings are open to the public? If so, I wonder if any Highlands supporters will be in attendance?
