The Reds are on a 96-66 pace. They are 3-7 in games Harang starts and 26-13 in games he does not start. Hopefully they can remedy that soon when Bailey comes back.

A friend of mine runs the Pavilion in CF. Yesterday he looked down over the railing into the bullpen and Edinson Volquez was pitching. He said he was pitching at 100% effort and the velocity and movement was there. The word around the stadium is they are projecting him to be back in the rotation after the all star break. How does this rotation sound for the playoffs :

They could bring up Chapman in September and use him much like the Rays used David Price 2 years ago. A man can dream right?

In preparing myself to get irritated to watch Harang pitch this evening I decided to do a little research on the theory that Dusty ruined him back in May 2008. Here are the details :

 

Harang started May 22nd against the Padres and pitched 5 1/3 and gave up 5 earned runs and threw 103 pitches

Harang pitched on May 25th in relief and pitched innings 13-16 and pitched great 4 IP , 0 ER's 9 K's and threw 63 pitches

Instead of skipping his turn in the rotation Dusty throws him out there on May 29th and be gets battered 4IP 10 hits 6 ER's
