Track the Reds (Week 8)

I remember watching the Reds on this road trip in 2006 and it seemed like nothing went their way. You would think this year's team has A LOT of veteran leadership and if the pitching can stay strong, they will avoid any extended losing streak.

Thanks to Wikipedia, here is a recap of that. The team was playing so well and in great shape.....

Actually it's the Drew Stubbs that's hitting .213 with 5 HR, 21 RBI and 48 SOs in 42 games this year. He's a huge liability at the plate. He isn't ready for major league pitching.

Wow..waste of a roster spot? He's on pace for about 85 runs, 85 rbi's, 20 hr's and 35 sb's and plays a great center field. I'm glad they are wasting a spot on him.

5-2 in the 3rd after Rolen gets an RBI double and Gomes follows him with an HR.

Maybe I have been too busy with the Stanley Cup playoffs and really haven't paid that close attention to Paul Keels. But does he always sound like this? I'm on my laptop with the game on the in the background and for all the scoring there has been in these first few innings, you would never know by the sound of his voice.

Gomes and Rolen might be the hottest 3 and 4 combination in the league right now. And no, I'm not kidding.

Except they are they 4 and 5 hitters.

I would imagine that LeCure is done. He's at 98 pitches after 6 innings. Very nice outing.

6 IP 6 H 2 ER 4 BB ( 1 intentionally and one unintentional intentional) and 5 K's, striking out the side in the 6th.

LeCure doesn't overwhelm you with his stuff, but he looks like he knows how to pitch. He sort of reminds me of Rick Reed.

I agree. LeCure doesn't overwhelm you, but like Leake , he seems to have a good idea of what he wants to do out there.

BTW, Keels is a baseball almanac, esp. when it comes to Reds' history.

Gomes with another hit, and RBI. He is a double away from the cycle.
