May 26, 201016 yr I had no problem at all with that, and yes the bullpen has been used a lot lately, and they have 9 more games in a row before a day off. Leake has shown he can handle the bat. He almost yanked a breaking ball out of the yard, but was just out in front of it a bit. :thumb: Leake is a much better offensive option right now than the waste of roster space Drew Stubbs.
May 26, 201016 yr Baker will cost you 8 to 10 games a year.... They are continuing to add up. Everyone knows Baker had zero to do with this loss. Stop trying to blame him for every single loss.
May 26, 201016 yr Nice touch by the rookie to lend support to Stubbs on the fly ball that he lost. Said he couldn't see it either when he looked up.
May 26, 201016 yr The reds are a good team. It would be nice to go on another 3-5 game winning streak. I am itching for the reds to make a move though. They have a few needs that they could upgrade. It will be interesting to see who they will go after if they stay in contention. I honestly believe they will be in contention for the rest of the year. They may not win it, but they will remain close. They just have to beat the teams they are supposed to beat. They HAVE to beat up on the astros and pirates every chance they get. Going back to a trade, I have no idea of the kind of players that will be available and I know it is still pretty early to be able to tell about it all. I would like to see for them to trade for a good right handed outfielder, preferably a center fielder. A relief pitcher would also be nice too. When Volquez and Chapman are ready we have to find two spots in the rotation and I say boot Harang, and start grooming Bailey for a closer role. Edited May 26, 201016 yr by stpatbaseball spelling
May 26, 201016 yr :thumb: Leake is a much better offensive option right now than the waste of roster space Drew Stubbs. They said last night Stubbs id hitting like .310 in the last 10 games and since being moved into the seventh spot. We have alot more problems than Stubbs.
May 26, 201016 yr No about the move of pinch runner a 42 year old Cairo for Hernandez? How fast can Cairo be?
May 26, 201016 yr Masset was pitching him outside, but he missed out over the plate. That has been his problem. I agree he was but Masset just can't let that happen.
May 26, 201016 yr Nice touch by the rookie to lend support to Stubbs on the fly ball that he lost. Said he couldn't see it either when he looked up. He's one special rookie.
May 26, 201016 yr Everyone knows Baker had zero to do with this loss. Stop trying to blame him for every single loss. I don't blame him for every single loss, just the 8 or so a year that he is directly responsible for. Dusty Baker is to baseball manager what Rand Paul is to U.S. Senator... Just not fit for the position.

Just not fit for the position. You're blaming him for the loss last night....What exactly did Dusty do to cause that loss? Did he switch places with the waste of a roster space and purposely lose the ball in the lights? Did he put on a Nick Massett disguise and purposely throw one right down broadway?
May 26, 201016 yr No about the move of pinch runner a 42 year old Cairo for Hernandez? How fast can Cairo be?Faster than Hernandez ... Actually, Cairo is 36, and he was 8-for-9 in stolen base attempts in Triple-A last season.
May 26, 201016 yr I know that they are desperatly trying to keep Rhodes from over work, but if they would have kept him in the game would have most likely gone to extras. I get the righty left match ups and all, but when a guy has a .49 ERA I like his chances against everyone. BTW I was at the game, when Stubbs misplayed the ball it completly sucked the air out of the stadium. I think everyone knew that it would come back to bite us with what Leake and Maholm(sp) were doing.
May 26, 201016 yr I have played baseball and softball for many years. Teams know who their good and bad match-ups are. Massett knew that LH Doumit was a tough match-up and a good clutch hitter. I believe he just won a game with a walk-off over the weekend. Instead of Massett and the Reds pitching him outside and not giving him nothing to hit, Massett throws a heater right down the middle. Know why Massett should have let Doumitt beat him with the eight place hitter on deck which he made look foolish. The Reds are playing well but make alot of silly moves that good teams just don't do. It's difficult when you fall behind. I wanted to leave Rhodes in to finish out the inning, but that may have been a little too much for Arthur.
