Your assumption is correct... If some one other than the mother kills the baby they are charged with murder..(other than doctors and they should be.)

 

I can appreciate this as a consistent response. If I was certain that life began at conception, I too, would likely take this stance.

 

As it is, I don't know, and the best that I can do (being honest with myself) is to take any opportunity to dissuade anyone that I can from choosing an abortion.

If someone were to hit a pregnant woman and cause her to abort her 2 month old baby, what would the assailant be charged with? Would he be charged with murder? I think that is the type of situation you were referencing, right? If someone causes a woman to abort her 1st trimester baby, what is the person charged with?

On their facebook wall this morning, they posted a set of photos entitled "Junior's first week of life." It seemed a bit ironic. I probably wouldn't have even thought a thing about it, had it not been for this thread.

Your refusal to answer the simple question confuses me. If you really believe that a mother is commiting murder when she has an abortion then step up and say she deserves prison time. You can't scream from the mountain tops that its murder but then not have the intestinal fortitude to say that the murderer deserves prison. By refusing to make that link you're saying its not really a murder.

A drunk diver hit a woman that was barely 6 weeks pregnant a couple of years ago causing her to lose the baby and he was charged with murder... I think it's happened a couple of times in our area and many times nationally.. I guess if the driver had been sober it would be a lesser charge of man slaughter or the like...

I want you and others that call it murder to show your conviction.

But women in this country have been fed the crap that it is a choice and their body and the unborn life does not need protection that I understand that it is not an easy answer nor will it be an easy transition.

 

I don't understand...so the women have been "fed the crap," so deserve less of a punishment, but the doctors haven't been and should be charged with murder?

My mother had an abortion when I was 14 and my sister was 12. While my sister had begun to show signs of severe mental illness by that time, my best guess is that the procedure was done for convenience. It was done very early in the pregnancy.

 

At that time, a woman had to be examined by a psychiatrist (in Maryland) prior to receiving approval for the abortion. She told me that when the psychiatrist asked her why she was there, she said, "Because the law says I have to be here."

 

Atthough I sometimes wonder what it would have been like growing up with a much younger sibling, I never thought of my mother as a murderer. I'm 99.99% sure that had my wife had a late unplanned pregnancy (our last planned one was when we were 35), we would have had a third child. But I never thought of my own mother as a criminal because she chose to have an abortion.

It's not a sticking point for me as I believe it's at conception.

If your friends would have lost the child at some point during pregnancy, God forbid, do you think they would have said "we lost our baby" or "we lost our fetus"?

If Obama said that he could open a business and not allow white people into it because it will be a private business he would be skewered and people would try to impeach him. Rand Paul may get elected for those same beliefs.

God. God is the author of Life and determines when it begins and when it ends. Deut. 32:39; Job 31:15; Pslam 139:13-16; Jeremiah 49:1; Jeremiah 1:5; Luke 1:39-44; Gal. 1:15; Ephesians 1:3-4. But, in order to take these scriptures as authority you need to believe the bible is the INSPIRED word of God. Not sure of your stance on that and therein lies the problem, if you do not believe the bible is the inerrhant, inspired Word of God then we have no common ground on which to even begin a discussion.

 

But you get to decide the law based on your understanding of scripture? What country are we living in again?
