Bill Lambeer Xavier McDaniel John Starks Robert Parish Danny Ainge Ron Artest Bruce Bowen Dennis Rodman Karl Malone Bill Cartwright John Stockton Kurt Rambis Jeff Ruland Rick Mahorn I think Malone is the dirtiest of all time but what do you guys think.

I'd take each and every one of these players on my team anytime! They all worked hard on defense. I'd throw Kermit Washington in there too, but not sure he was dirty-just straight at you tough. Paul Silas too.
May 7, 201016 yr Kermit Washington for that punch. And what about Reggie Miller? He was the dirtiest IMO, because he would do it and the other guy would get called for it. He wasn't as physically nasty as other players, but he still used some pretty dirty tactics.
May 7, 201016 yr I've never known of Rodman being a dirty player. He's a weird guy but for the most part, he simply outworked everyone.
May 7, 201016 yr Why is the Mailman on that list? There have been numerous players in the past that would say they thought Karl Malone was a dirty player for always driving through the lane with a knee up, so that it would go in the defender's chest. Couldn't tell ya one player that said it, but I remember hearing it a while back. I think I would throw Anthony Mason in there.
May 7, 201016 yr I think a lot of people confuse "dirty" with "aggressive." I don't consider many of those players to be dirty and that includes Kermit Washington.
May 8, 201016 yr I agree on Malone, although his shot to Isiaiah Thomas' noggin that required 40+ stitches was a highlight in my book. Malone was also the biggest flopper in the game.

Kermit Washington had one incident and that incident shouldn't define what kind of player he was because he wasn't in game action during that incident. Not to mention, fights during games were commonplace in the NBA in those days Kermit Washington wasn't even known as a fighter during that time. Had his 1 punch not have been so devastating, his name wouldn't even be brought up in this thread. He wasn't anywhere near as dirty as any of these guys listed. I really don't remember Kurt Rambis being dirty. I remember him being a never-going-to-back-down from-you-scrappy type of player, but not dirty.
