April 29, 201016 yr I loved the Rob Zombie version of Halloween. His #2 was a bit out there though. I feel the same way...My wife and I couldn't even sit through the 2nd one. It was more about being grotesque than being horrifying. Another so-called "horror" movie remake that is absolutely terrible is "The Fog." I've never seen the original, but the remake may be the worst movie I have ever seen.
April 29, 201016 yr Another Tim Burton remake comes to mind for me .... Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The original is one of my favorite movies ever and the remake is unwatchable. Burton's remake is actually the real story from the book, almost word for word. I do agree that the original was better, though. It would be hard for anyone to fill Gene Wilder's shoes IMO.

Not only was the second one just trying to be grotesque, it was weird. The original fog scared the crap out of me what I was young. It's a pretty good flick. The remake was crap.

April 30, 201016 yr I know it was from a TV series but The Dukes of Hazzard movie was Awful. Now that i'm semi grown up the show was dumb too. Loved it as a kid though

The orginal 'The Fog' was pretty good at the time. The remake was just no fun to watch at all.

It would be hard for anyone to fill Gene Wilder's shoes IMO. I have only been able to watch bits and pieces before giving up but it wasn't the script. It was the whole production that was bad. I love Johnny Depp but I have no clue what he was doing in that role.
April 30, 201016 yr King Kong. Actually, King Kong is probably one of the best remake stories. Of course the original is a classic. But the two remakes were both good and were both nominated for Oscars and Golden Globes. I thought the Peter Jackson remake with Jack Black was excellent. The one in the late 70's was just ok for me but it wasn't bad IMO and like I said there were a couple of award nominations out of that one.
April 30, 201016 yr Caddy Shack II The Beverly Hillbillies Nearly all the Rocky and Rambo movies. Except for The Beverly Hillbillies none of those are remakes, are they?
