I listened to the Michigan State/Butler game on XM as I was driving to my Mother's and I liked the way John Thompson Jr. put it when both Duke and West Virginia fans were cheering for Butler: "Be careful what you wish for."

 

I don't think anyone from Duke will be underestimating Butler because they are a "mid-major", but that could be the headline in Tuesday's newspapers. I have picked against Butler in every single game in the tournament this season, and will not be doing so in this game. I think Duke has a clear advantage in personnel with Smith, Scheyer, and Singler, but would not be surprised in the slightest if Duke is the sixth team Butler has held under 60 points this season.

Duke got very hot at the right time, which is what it takes to win the tournament.

Duke will put up way too many points for Butler to keep up and I think it could get ugly for Cinderella.

Otherwise the debate will start on who's better Wooden or Coach K. ESPN already started saying how much more impressive it is to win 4 titles now than winning multiple titles in the 60's and 70's.

Duke is too long and disciplined to allow Butler to do the things they did against MSU. They will defend Mack and Hayward much better than MSU did and that will be the difference.

Like most fans, I will pull for Butler, but unless Duke does a Kentucky-like clankathon, this could be a 15+ point beatdown. Have a feeling the slipper gets cracked pretty bad.

I think this game will be closer than some of you are predicting. . Let's not forget this same Butler team has beat Kansas St, Ohio St, Syracuse, and now Michigan St.

 

Duke obviously is the favorite but don't be surprised if Butler pulls the "upset" and wins.

 

Preseason, Duke was #9 and Butler was #11. Butler also has the "home court" advantage playing in their back yard..

I think it'll be a good game. Butler has beaten some very good teams to get to this point. I don't know why anyone should bury them going in. Yes, Duke is playing very well, and should be favored based on that. But Butler is no slouch. I'll take Duke, but I anticipate a close contest.

No one is going to roll Butler. Just ask Syracuse and Kansas State, and Michigan State.

 

I think Butler will win a close game. I like the home city advantage and 80% of the crowd noise will be in the Bulldog's favor. Plus they are a great defensive team. Duke won't get as many open looks as they did against WV.
