sportsfan41 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Nice to see UK with some names on the list again.
cardinalsvoice Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Congrats to both Wall and Cousins...they deserved it. Not to disparage the kid...but why did Harangody make 2nd team when he did not play the 2nd half of the season. I am not denying he is a great player for Coach Bray and the Fighting Irish...but he should not have made 2nd team All American and only played half a year.
Log Mountain Boy Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 The only thing that really bothers me is Scheyer making the 2nd team over Vazquez.

He missed about the same number of games as Turner...
Qryche11 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 He missed about the same number of games as Turner... Yup but he aint no Turner by a long shot. In fact I think Turner is the best player in the country.
gametime Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Yup but he aint no Turner by a long shot. In fact I think Turner is the best player in the country. Same here. Just pointing out he didn't miss anything close to half the season...
RockPride Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 The only thing that really bothers me is Scheyer making the 2nd team over Vazquez. Who won the ACC and the ACC tourney? Greivas had his chances.
GRC4LIFE Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 The only thing that really bothers me is Scheyer making the 2nd team over Vazquez. I agree with you on most things, but I can't on this one. Don't let your hate for Duke cloud what kind of season Scheyer had this year.
Wireman Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Is this the USBWA All-America teams or is this the AP All-America teams? http://www.sportswriters.net/usbwa/news/2010/allamerica100315.html
Log Mountain Boy Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Who won the ACC and the ACC tourney? Greivas had his chances. Lets be accurate. Vasquez and Maryland were the co-ACC champions with Duke. Vasquez carried Maryland. Scheyer had a lot of help. I would argue that down the stretch Singler was the man for Duke more than Scheyer. 4-13 4-10 5-17 Thats what Scheyer shot from the field in the ACC tourney game by game. A combined 13-40. And had a grand total of 8 assists in the tourney. And Scheyer only had 6 other McDonald's All Americans on his team. Vasquez is the better player and had the better year. Sheyer 18.6 ppg 5 apg 3.5 rpg 40% fg 87% ft 1.6 spg Vasquez 19.5 ppg 6.3 apg 4.7 rpg 42.9% fg 85% ft 1.7 spg Vasquez was better in every statistical category besides ft% which was close. They had the same conference records team-wise. Both lost to the really good teams they played out of conference. The only thing Scheyer's team accomplished that Vasquez didn't was an ACC championship where Scheyer didn't really play good. One thing both players have done great though is hit shots in the clutch. Scheyer and Vasquez have really stepped up and knocked down big shots.
MJAlltheWay24 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I guess they don't determine the teams by position? Not that I'm saying they should, just surprised. I will argue that James Anderson should be on the first team over Sherron Collins...any takers?
Original Rookie Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I won't buy James Anderson over Collins, even though he is amazing. Big Cuz is a 1st Teamer in my book.
