March 11, 201016 yr For the most part, the only people that believe that baseball is more exciting are huge baseball fans or purists. I think it is more of baseball being so strategic. You could sit through 7 innings of a game with 1 or 2 hits combined and be enjoying a ''pitchers duel.'' In the same game in the bottom of the 9th one team may draw a walk, then run a hit and run and that could wrap your game up. Too some that is very exciting and too others it may be a long 3.5 - 4 hours. I think you could even argue the game was more enjoyable for some when everyone weas on steroids.
March 11, 201016 yr To me its an easy choice any day of the week.....baseball. I love watching football either in person or on TV, but baseball is much more enjoyable for me in any way shape or form. Ask anyone who knows me and they'll tell you about how much I talk about baseball....lol.

The last poll I seen that compares favorite sports was by USA today and it wasn't even close. Baseball came in 4th or 5th place. What?:confused: Wow, I don't know what your grudge is against baseball, but you are a steelers fan, of course your going to say that. Go to NYC, Atlanta, LA, San Fran, St. Louis, Chicago, Philly, Boston and maybe even Cincinnati and see what is the favorite sport. It's really not as far as you think. For me it's as JA was saying before, I appreciate baseball a lot more. I love watching football, but I do like College better than Pro. As far as your poll, could you provide a link? I looked online and baseball was usually around #2 and #3 if you include Nascar. I know for a fact that the St. Louis Rams are in the back seat to the St. Louis Blues and in a different car than the Cardinals. It's all about where you live IMO to which is more popular. Of course in Pittsburgh, thanks to the sorry excuse of a franchise, the Pirates. Baseball, though, will always be America's past time.

March 15, 201016 yr There is much more of a "WOW" factor for me in baseball. The only time I get amazed in football is on an occasional catch or watching someone like Chris Johnson break a long run, but it simply doesn't happen often enough. Baseball, on the other hand, "WOW's" me nearly every inning when a pitcher drops a nasty 12:00-6:00 hammer, locates a perfect changeup, dials it up to 95+, throws a back door breaking pitch...etc. Then, there's the time when you're watching someone like Pujols who makes hitting the above look easy. Not to mention the great catches made. The skill it takes to play baseball at a high level is what keeps me interested.

March 17, 201016 yr I will NEVER say that baseball is better than football. With that being said, I really have never had a bad day at a pro baseball game at any level, ... farm league or the big leagues.
March 17, 201016 yr Those good old summer warm nights at the ballpark are the best,love baseball. I agree. I can't forget the memories of going to the games with my mom and dad and listening to the stories about Stan Musial, Jackie Robinson , Stachel Paige, Cool Papa Bell and other great players. Also passing it on to my sons. It was a great joy getting to see my oldest son play a game at Applebee's Park. To me no sport touches baseball.

College football in recent years has made the biggest leap and could be set to take over baseball here soon. Let us be honest here people. Growing up today, not near the number of kids play baseball as they do football and basketball. Maybe when kids are really young before they are physically ready for football and basketball, but once they are older interest declines. A lot may have to do with overall exposure and it being more difficult to make it in pro baseball. What the Harris poll shows is the lack of popularity with younger generations, which is not good.
