February 27, 201016 yr Let's be honest here, though. UK played like absolute garbage today, Tennessee played pretty much as well as they can play, and the game was tied with a minute to go. Fix the outside shooting and I think this game is a UK "W". Well just call Coach Cal, and give him the secret on fixing the outside shooting and we'll all feel much better about the Cats chances in the tournament. :lol:

Out of the 18 or so that we shot I only remember a handful or so that were even good looks. You have to start with shot selection to improve the 3 point shooting.
February 27, 201016 yr Game decided by 3 things: - UT's 2-3 matchup zone that UK just didn't figure out today - Interior and transition defense was not present for UK; Vols shot layups all day - Wall's turnover combined with Hopson's 3-pointer in the final minute Bonus points to the officials, as well It looked at times like a 3-2 zone to me, but a matchup may suppose to do that. I'm not a coach.
February 27, 201016 yr :laugh: UK shoots 20 percent from the field for most of the game, ends up 35%. Has a stretch of about 3 minutes where Wall gets all the calls to get them back in the game, they had 6 less fouls than UT and shoot probably 10 more free throws on the ROAD and there is bonus points to the officials. I guess there really are UK fans and then there are basketball fans.:idunno: Wall was fouled a lot more times than the officials called it. I thought the charge call on him at the end(actually pretty much ended the game) was very, very weak.

February 27, 201016 yr Random thoughts from this one.... ~Cal should have subbed Harris for Bledsoe down the stretch, we had enough offense, not enough defense. Bledsoe is one of the worst defenders on this team. ~UT played pretty well, but had one of those stretches which you can count on and that is taking bad shots. They ran a patterned offense on the first half and was killing UK on flex cuts, but went away from it in the second half. ~I really dont think that Cal is that good of a bench coach. Hard to say that when you are 27-2, but I can't make of what they are running. ~2-22 on threes, is not good, but lack of perimeter shooting doesnt hurt UK as much as others because they are so strong in frontcourt, but making some perimeter shots will open up so many things. ~Wall had 2 turnovers late but was instrumental in the comeback from 19 down. ~Miller played well in the last 8 minutes...he is slowly starting to build some confidence. ~Another tough one at Georgia...better have it strapped on.

February 27, 201016 yr Now I understand why the other SEC coaches have complained about the late game Thursday and then the early road game on Saturday. UK didn't seem to have any legs under them early and by the end it was too late. As someone else mentioned, though, this shouldn't come as a surprise. It might actually help point out some flaws.

Yep... this team can slash, score in transition, score down low. But when a team takes that away says hey let's play a game of horse UK struggles big time.
