You are correct. Ex parte' communications never occur outside of the media eyes.

While Army and Navy are academically two of the top schools in the nation, everyone that attends those two schools gets a full scholarship. But once you graduate, you have a five year active duty commitment.

 

Good point....these two, and Air Force are a completely different animal compared to another D1 offering a scholly.

For the EKY homers that say Justice should win Mr. Basketball, I ask you this...

Let's not forget that Jonathon Ferguson put up better numbers for Elliott Co last year AND had post season success but still didn't get the award.

 

The MR. Basketball race is wide open, IMO...even with Sewell having a big year for the Rocks. Writers/Media just choose to pit these two against one another to draw interest and debate from folks like us.

 

Ian Chiles (Ballard), Keisten Jones (Ballard), Aaron Watts (McCreary Central), Elijah PIttman (Holmes), Ricardo Johnson (Holmes), Chad Jackson (Scott Co) and Dakotah Euton (Scott Co) are all just as much in the race as Justice and Sewell.

 

Ballard, Holmes, and Scott Co could all three win a state championship and have one of the above mentioned players have a huge tourney and earn Mr. Basketball honors.

 

This award won't be settled until AFTER the Sweet 16..

I believe the race is still wide open this year... Sewell had a great year and would be deserving, but his team's lost didn't help his chances. That opens the door for a number of the people already listed to lead their team deep in the Sweet 16 or to the championship, and that will weigh heavily. Jon Hood was brought up earlier as having won without his team making the S-16, but he had already committed to Kentucky. I do not believe he would have won had he committed elsewhere.

Interesting, I'm sure you meant Coach Finney @ Marshall but whatever............ I have always enjoyed my talks with Coach Tyndall and Coach Nelson.........they were going to offer but Elisha had made his mind up.

 

Sometimes I wish Elisha would have just went through the entire process so people could see what was going to be out there for him........

"were going to offer" and did offer is two complete different things.

 

As I stated earlier, Morehead and Marshall did not offer Elisha a scholarship.

Jenkins had a shot if he stayed healthy. Also, if Phares wouldn't have tore his ACL in the regional semis and if Scott Co. won the region and made a run in the Sweet 16 I believe he would have had a shot. He had a great sr. year.

You seem to continually try to slight Justice. Everyone understands that he plays in the worst region of the Mr. Basketball contenders and has probably played the least competiton of them also. But what you are doing in no way makes Sewell a more qualified candidate, yet only shows that you want to downgrade a high school kid that is no doubt a more mature and classy individual than yourself. :thumb:
