February 25, 201016 yr One scout when asked about Cousins chances of going top 5 texted me this (over a week ago): “No way…mental issues…he is on bigtime meds i hear…not athletic enough for me talent wise also…but he has been great last month…” That same scout has since stated that he thinks Cousins will probably go “very high” in the draft, but says he wouldn’t touch him in the top five for fear of off court issues." February 25, 201016 yr I am fine with the scout's evaluation, but it is pretty obvious whomever wrote that does not care much for Cousins. I anticipate his Email will be full here in about 4 minutes.
February 25, 201016 yr I'm sure he is the only guy that plays basketball who is on medication :idunno: Boogies is 20 & 10 waiting to happen in the NBA.
February 25, 201016 yr Wow. This guy is making some dangerous allegations here. To use hearsay "I hear he is on big time meds", quote certain things as fact when no proof was ever presented that he punched anyone, talk about off court issues when to my knowledge there have been none, is treading on thin ice IMHO. Now, if you say 'Has demonstrated a lack of emotional control at times', no one could dispute that, ... but these are pretty serious allegations to be putting on a kid.
February 25, 201016 yr You wanna know why you never listen to what scouts have to say? Randolph Morris was supposed to be the next big thing in the NBA.
February 25, 201016 yr I think he's right, and Cousins needs to spend at least 2 more years in college. :dancingpa:dancingpa
February 25, 201016 yr You wanna know why you never listen to what scouts have to say? Randolph Morris was supposed to be the next big thing in the NBA. That was before college. Compare the freshman years of the two... not even close.
February 25, 201016 yr This had to be the same Portland scout that called Bowie over Jordan & Oden over Durant.
February 25, 201016 yr That's garbage. Number one, that's the first I've heard of Cuz being on medication. And even if he is, so what? People have problems, and if he needs to take meds and is taking his meds I don't see the problem. I do have concerns about Cuz's athleticism but I don't see how a credible NBA scout would say they wouldn't take him in the top 5. NBA draft is all on potential and what big man has more than DCuz? This was a straight up garbage article that had to be written by a hater. If you don't think Cuz is good or will be good in the NBA that's fine, but don't blast him by saying "he's on serious meds". The article just wanted to make him look like a crazed thug which is garbage.
February 25, 201016 yr I don't see any point in why that would be published. It really is not the public's business regarding his mental health. I salute him, if he has recognized an issue and is doing something to take care of it.

True or not, its not his place to make it public.

February 25, 201016 yr That's probably a scout for a team in the 7-10 range hoping to scare some people away from Cousins so he can pick him.

February 25, 201016 yr This is kind of off subject, but applies to Cuz and his draft status. I heard Will Perdue on WKRD this morning, he was talking UK. He said that the rumors are true about NBA teams wanting Cal. Didn't say Cal was leaving, but he said the Nets were interested. He went on to say that the big talk at the NBA All-Star weekend was the fact that UK had four kids that would get drafted. He said an agent told him that Bledsoe will enter, along with the other three, for sure. He said the looming potential of a lock out was a big factor. As for Cuz, everyone knows he's crazy. Not sure how that's news. That's part of what makes him good IMO. I agree on the lack of athleticism, mainly his jumping ability. But I think he makes up for that with his savvy and hands. I'm still not sold he'll be a star in the NBA, I've seen a lot of big guys that I thought would star in the pros disappear. You really don't know until you get there I guess.
