2010 Spring Football

Featured Replies

It seems Highlands likes to keep their basketball season short so as to not interfere with football. :D

And this is exactly why our football field is wearing so much as stated in another thread. You know, Highlands has to try and gain any edge they can on the enemy. And with the Superbowl of HS football in KY coming up in August, its never too early to start preparing. Strange though how both Highlands Girls and Boys both lost on the same nite. :D20n10

What are you saying? Are there some mystical powers going on that we all don't know about?

Yeah, it's the "Muel-Aid"....a strange brew that causes these types of things to happen.

Pity the poor HHS kids/parent's who play/cheer for the HHS Basketball teams who had to be crushed this week in losing, then reading this thread, where some HHS fans are actually giddy about being able to start Spring Football almost a full three weeks prior to the start of Spring because their classmates/friends lost!

Yes I am a CovCath fan but indeed this is sad to read and I wonder how the kids and parents of the Basketball team feel to hear some being so happy about Football being able to start so soon?

Don't worry. I'm sure they are smart enough to not take it seriously.

You are starting to sound more like The Bitter Old Man than The Old Guy. I seriously doubt any Highlands football fan was cheering for the boys and girls basketball teams to lose just so we can start spring football today.

Perhaps Ram is right and you are just trying to stir the pot. Sad if true.

Obviously trying to get something started here. If I were a Cov. Cath fan I would focus on other issues rather than when the Birds are starting Spring practice.

I think HHS fans have no problem separating the basketball losses with the start of spring football. We would all absolutely love it if the basketball teams made a deep run into the sweet 16. That would be exciting as all get out, but it didn't happen, so we're excited about spring football.

Wow!!! This is sad!!! You are not serious right?

Oh and for what it's worth 20n10!!!!

I'm not a fan of spring practice. I don't think it gives the benefit that others do. I fully realize I'm in the minority on this but there's no way you can tell me that HHS doesn't win the championship this past year if they didn't have spring practice.

At some schools its raised to such an important must-do that players either do not participate in other spring sports or they skip out on practice of their spring sport for fear of "getting behind." A football coach should not let a kid playing another sport participate. Period.
