2010 Spring Football

Featured Replies

No one desires to start Spring football in 35 degree temps.

Spring football should be moved to start around April 1 at the earliest.

Its too cold, not even the coaches like it. Anyone that says starting now is a good thing, is not being honest with themselves or anyone else.

Spring football is a good thing, but poorly "ruled" by its timing.

Agreed!

I agree 100%-spring football is good but not in these temps. Who ever came up with this idea needs their head checked. I just hope our Basketball team keeps wining so we dont have to go out in this stuff. By the way it isn't even spring until March 20th.

I'm sorry, but this makes no sense if temps are an issue. Teams play into November and December at similar temps.

48 this weekend and I consider that a heatwave!

It must be getting icy down below! :D

I know. I have been running alittle fever this morning. I'm sure that has something to do with it.:jump:

Interesting to see Bishop is back in the program. He is extremely fast and aggressive. I hope he can stay committed to the team and be a leader next year. Duenas and Bishop on the same field will be fun to watch. Huddleston has really gotten some size on him and he will be a nice LB. Is Towles playing baseball?

How in the world could Pat Towles play baseball? That would make him a 3 sport athlete and that is not acceptable by today's standards.:D

Now that is funny JOAT. I just figured he might have as good a fastball as his Grandpa who still seems to be slinging them these days.

That is because you have no other option-There is another option in the spring and not only that, in november you have been practicing all year long and are less likley to have injuries than in the spring -so yes it does make sense! Unless you have been one of us out there practicing then you would not know what we are talking about. :sssh:

What??

Yeah...I have no idea what you're talking about because I've never practiced.

When my son played, the risk for injuries weren't any greater in the spring. They were in the weightroom right after the season ended, if they weren't playing other sports.

I do know what I'm talking about. And I can tell you I know of at least a team of former players personally that didn't mind playing in the spring at all. They loved it.

You didn't birth a baby, does that mean you don't know how to raise it?

I didn't practice football or play it but that certainly doesn't mean I don't have a clue about football.

Sorry, the you didn't play therefore you don't understand argument just really ticks me off.

Rockmom and Henry: Sisters in arms!

This almost has to be a sign of the looming apocolypse of 2012! :scared:

So...I've been mulling this over, and I've come to no conclusion, of course. But on a tangent, I was thinking, how in the world did two seemingly innocuous teams become so competitive toward each other. Neither Bluebirds nor Shamrocks are bound to incite fear. Yet, here we are, arugably the two perennially best teams in the state. Hmmmm...Bluebirds and Shamrocks....sounds like such a utopian dream.
