February 16, 201016 yr A bad UConn team that beat Texas, nearly beat Kentucky, and just beat Nova. Really? Do you think that the Big East may actually be a half way decent conference? OK Texas is not a great team and they played a UK in December starting three frosh and lost on basically a home court. You have not seen UConn play lately they are bad and Nova is overrated, has a hole in the middle they have been hiding and is now exposed.

The Garden is no where near a home court for Uconn. Actually, UK had more fans there than Uconn. Nova losing one game to them doesn't make them overrated. Uconn is a better team than South Carolina, does that make UK overrated? No it doesn't, it just means you lost a game.
February 16, 201016 yr Kentucky has some very tough road games coming up. It will be interesting to hear thoughts on this subject in a couple of weeks.
February 16, 201016 yr Based on the preseason rankings, it seems obvious to me that UNC was the most overrated coming into the season. As far as the rankings now and who is currently overrated, I am really not sure. Maybe Texas. Possibly WVU. I really am not sure and until the tourneys start, it is sort of hard to tell. Conference play is tough, especially if you are ranked because you are everyone's big game especially if you are leading your conference. Syracuse is not overrated IMHO. They lost a game to a very motivated UL squad who has lost some heartbreakers.
February 16, 201016 yr So no one else besides Devil4life33 thinks Michigan St. is overrated despite their RPI being 26? How about Ohio St. ranked 9 with an RPI of 30? Purdue is also ranked several places higher than their RPI.
February 16, 201016 yr How can Syracuse and Villanova be overrated? They've lost two games a piece, we're almost 3/4 of the way through the season. That's one of the most absurd things I've read in a long time. I would say: Washington-started the season ranked 13th, made it as high 10, they're 17-8 now with losses to Texas Tech, UCLA, Arizona, and Arizona State-those teams are bad. Connecticut-started the season at 14th, made a few trips in the top 10, they're 14-11 right now. North Carolina-started the season at 4, they're 14-11 as well with a horrendous 3-7 record in an average ACC this year. Michigan-started the season at 15, they're 12-12 now, with losses to Boston College, Utah, and Indiana. AND, they have two 17+ ppg scorers on the wing. Oklahoma-started the season at 16, they're 13-11, with losses to Virginia Commonwealth, San Diego, Houston, and UTEP. That's the very reason I'm against a Pre-Season Poll!

February 17, 201016 yr Somebody was sleeping during geography class. I'm well aware of Uconn's location. Because they are close in proximity doesn't mean they play home games there. Uconn doesn't play home games at the Garden. Therefore, it's not a "home" game. And, like I said earlier, UK had more fans at the game against Uconn. My point is that was not road game for UK.
February 19, 201016 yr Man I don't see how anyone could have said the 'Cuse or GTown were overrated. I know some were sarcastic though. Syracuse scares me more as a UK fan than Kansas does because of that zone and their length. While I don't know about BSpikes claim that GTown has the best backcourt in the country, they looked like it in the 2nd half last night. Maybe they are?
