January 27, 201016 yr I am not defending Cousins here. This has been one of my biggest problems with storming the field and courts for years. It is simply a hazard to do it. You put everyone at great risk by allowing students to run on as they do. Assuming Cousins did this, that would be as about as shocking as the ending to Titanic. Seriously, if someone said "A UK player throws a punch" who do you automatically assume it would be? I agree. That's kind of my point. If he's walking off the court and gets hit in the back, he has every right to defend himself. I would hope he'd show some self-restraint, but we are talking about an 18 year old hot-head.
January 27, 201016 yr I can't access that at work...What does it say? Has the radio guy who obviously started the story, then they have the supposed guy who got hit, Steve. Steve said he stormed the court with his head down to dodge security, ran into a big body. Looked up there was Cousins, said Cousins gave him a chicken wing, then followed it up with a good shot to the cheek/under the cheek. Radio announcer said it was like two uppercuts. It could have happened, it could not have happened. In the world of sports radio this one could have easily been fabricated. Could also easily be true.
January 27, 201016 yr It could have happened, it could not have happened. In the world of sports radio this one could have easily been fabricated. Could also easily be true. Given who we are talking about here, it seems very plausible; hence my fear even before the final buzzer sounded.
January 27, 201016 yr Author He did seem in good spirits about it. Funniest part of the interview was when the kid said he let him hit him a again if they could win at Rupp. I think this probably did happen, and you are correct. It's not very surprising. He's a great ball player, just has a bad temper.
January 27, 201016 yr Author This is exactly why the SEC has this rule in place. Very true. That doesn't make it ok, but when a chaotic enviornment like that is created that quickly you never know what is going to happen.
January 27, 201016 yr Could be true, but local radio host are know to make up bits all the time. Perhaps there more to the story. Even knowing that Cousins is a hot head, I just can't see him punching some random guy without being provoked. Would like to see some evidence that this happened other than somebody calling into a radio show.
January 27, 201016 yr Given who we are talking about here, it seems very plausible; hence my fear even before the final buzzer sounded. It does sound likely, it really does. I just have a hard time believing with all those running on the court, and with all the attention ESPN and their broadcasters were giving this one, that there have only been two people so far say they have seen this. Steve (guy who got hit) and the Radio Guy. It sounds a lot like something Boogs would do, but it wouldn't be hard to make something like this up either. You got to think about who were talking about here, South Carolina fans.

Would like to see some evidence that this happened other than somebody calling into a radio show. The situation was provoking enough. You lose for the first time in upset fashion and have people running in to you from every direction screaming in your face. If that does not make a spirited competitive hothead want to throw a hay maker, I am not sure what does.
January 27, 201016 yr So we have determined this...Cousins doesn't like when people run into him on accident.:lol::popcorn::lol: For the record...storming a court, field, etc. is silly!
January 27, 201016 yr I'd probably punched someone in the face if they got in mine after a loss as well. Don't taunt someone if your not ready to be knock out.
