January 27, 201016 yr That's my thoughts on him. He is quick, and he get's you to foul him alot. I think if UK would not have gone for his head fake so much and just stay on the floor with a hand in his face, he would have been less of a factor. But UK being a good blocking team, they look for that first, and they fouled him. He is not a good shooter, he is awesome at stopping and going. He is a very good shooter. Leave him open for threes all night and watch what happens. UK defended Downey perfectly tonight. Where they blew it was not collapsing to the rim with him when he drove and stopping the second chance points. I also would have pounded it inside even more on offense to get USC's bigs in more serious foul trouble and off the floor.

January 27, 201016 yr Author Nope just stating the facts. He missed a lot of shots, but was the heart and soul of a far inferior team knocking off #1. This wasn't K State beating Texas or UT beating Kansas. Who made it happen if Downey was average? I'd love to see how many of his missed shots resulted in 2nd chance points...

January 27, 201016 yr I praised this UK team for playing well as a team and everyone stepping up Saturday. Hell Miller even had 18 points in that win!!! Where did that all so? This was not the same team we saw Saturday. Frankly if they're going to play that up tight and scared of losing then I'd rather just go ahead and get it out of the way.
