January 22, 201016 yr I may be wrong, but this seems to be the greatest thread on race relations ever. The exposure on why this idea is stupid, but the honest discussion on fringe elements the other direction is positive also. I for one believe BGP is ahead of the curve on discussing such matters.

Okay, so here's the reasoning as I'm reading it: He doesn't like that the things described above are part of contemporary professional sport. Being non-white makes you more likely to do these things in public. So then, according to this reasoning: Better = whites only. But somehow using these stereotypes to come to these conclusions is not racist. WHAT!?!? :thumb:

Lots of measurements involved, including verticals...... Headbands would be banned, I assume.

January 22, 201016 yr You do realize that the Cosby Show, and Different World are syndicated shows that were on NBC for years don't you? Yes. My original post on the mainstream networks stated that no black sitcoms have been developed on the major networks since Martin, but I had forgotten about The Hughleys, My Wife and Kids and The Bernie Mac Show. Since the early 2000's I haven't seen or remembered any black sitcoms that have been developed for the four mainstream networks. I probably shouldn't have made the sarcastic remark about the mainstream networks as this part of the topic has taken on a life of its own, but I stand by my statement. I really was just stating a case for BET to exist. I see nothing wrong with it. Or CMT for that matter. There is an audience for everything and if a tv station can get it out there, I see no harm. There isn't any racist intent or propaganda on BET so I see nothing wrong with it. Same for CMT. I watch very little of both. This league is a whole other ballgame.
