Hey guys a few of us were talking recruiting on another thread and instead of thread-jacking I figured I'd start a thread to discuss football recruiting. It's kind of vague, so any team, rumors, commits, or decommits I guess.

 

We were talking about Seantrel Henderson and Jordan Hicks and the Tennessee situation.

 

I thought it could be a fun forum :laugh:, though I don't know a thing about it first hand.

Good idea. It is going to be interested where some of the UT recruits land. It would be nice if UK gets a few. I can't believe UT's athletic director is making the players who enrolled early stay at UT. That is exactly who you want on your team, players who don't want to be there. If they did transfer to say, USC or UK or wherever, could they redshirt this fall and play next year? Or would they have to sit our for virtually two years?

UK doesn't have much room left so I doubt you will see any commit to the Cats.

Now is that so bad, the kids get their scholarships, a great school, USC cheerleaders (OK I know), now what happens if these kids say no and the new coach comes in and say.."I'm sorry, you didn't sign anything yet, you are not the type kid that will fit my system, we don't want you".

 

Lane wanted these kids, what do they do now? So maybe that wasn't a bad move after all. Now if the president says these kids get to come with the Vols, then Coach Ed should leave them alone. I'm a daddy.

Who should be Lane's top priority? The kids already committed to USC or the ones that committed to UT? I don't know if it is a national rule but I know that the SEC has a limit on scholarship signees this year to counter what Houston Nutt did at Ole Miss. I would think that Ed and Lane would look at who committed to USC and to UT and try to get the best.

Thats my point. Lane gets to SC and sees they have offered a fullback or two, now Lane doesn't use a Fullback, and there are two schollys wasted, but Lane has the right two find the correct fit for his system, and tells the fullbacks they need to look somewhere else. And there is nothing wrong with that. Its like an AD telling the incoming coach .."you need to keep this coach and this guy, and the strenth coach on the staff", thats not right either.

Lewis decommitted but I might still be intrested in UC. If his grades are high enough he will get an offer from ND.

USF QB commit Brion Carnes is looking around now that they fired their coach. He is going to visit Nebraska soon and WKU after that. UC has offered and trying to get him to visit too. He is the cousin of former husker Tommie Frazier.
