He plans on making his choice weeks past signing day. The only visit that is set for now is UC because of his basketball schedule. He's talented enough for some programs to wait, but right now he's playing a very dangerous game if he keeps to the plan of taking most visits after signing day...

 

Good info I agree. From what I heard he is deciding between Ohio State and playing QB. As you said UC's QB appears to be locked up for a few years, don't know about UL or GT.

Marshall has stolen 3 recruits from WVU recently. The biggest name one is 4-star Darius Millines. Doc Holliday will be the best thing to happen at Marshall since Pennington, Leftwich and Moss IMO.

Dyjuan Lewis is back in the fold for UC. His reason? “New and better coaching staff at UC.”

ND has now offered QB Luke Massa and he will be visiting with Matt James next weekend. BK is looking to add two Cincinnati area QBs that aren't good enough to play at that level. He seems to think the kids he recruited at UC are what he needs to win at ND. This is going to be hilarious to watch... :lol:

Am I misinterpreting this or what? Are you saying the UC kids can't compete with the big schools? It hasn't been too long ago they were going for a national championship with his kids. :ohbrother:

When is ND moving to the Big East? At the end of the day (as BK loves to say) the proof is in the pudding. He played 3 big time opponents while at UC, and was outclassed by Oklahoma, Virginia Tech and Florida by a fairly large margin.

 

There has NEVER been more recruiting uncertainty than there is this year nationally, and they aren't exactly getting looks from the large number of highly talented players shopping their services around before Signing Day. If his plan to win at ND is to recruit what he knows (Ohio, Michigan and Indiana) and expect to win big, I'll have a lot of fun watching him follow the past 15 years of "success" in South Bend...

Simply put, they can't. Most likely never will be able to. It's not a knock on the program or the "kids". It's reality.

At least not with 99% of the prospects landing in the 2 and 3 star range. If he plans to keep that at 90% at ND, he's going to have trouble. You have the money and prestige to land regular Top 10 classes at ND, but if he doesn't recruit nationally there is only so much you can "coach them up".

 

As for your usual jab at UC, early on it seems Butch Jones has a much different philosophy in recruiting, and will be a lot more aggressive going after elite talent in the south, mid west and east coast. If he can bring in a higher level of talent, the chances for UC to continue climbing the CFB ladder will increase exponentially. If you compare each coaches 3 year stint at CMU it is clear who was more successful on the recruiting trail, so hopefully that carries over and the early returns are looking very promising...

I would take him over Hendrix/Massa combined. Were gonna see something in OH next year we rarely see... 3 elite HS quarterbacks. If the 2 others say no to OSU (we will get 1) I see them offering Stoudt in a hurry.

You may have taken it as a jab, but it wasn't intended as such. The talent UC has now, and has had isn't national title caliber. You said as much in your earlier post. That type of talent will never be good enough to win it all. If they can start landing some of those elite guys from wherever they may play, that could change. Do I see it as very likely? No, but yeah it's possible. And I would say the same exact thing about all but a couple handful of programs, not just UC.

That is exactly my point. When BK was here and UC was undefeated all you heard was they should be in the national championship game. I agree they can't play to well with the big boys but when BK was here UC fans claimed they could now that he is gone he can't compete at ND.:thumb:

ND's schedule isn't too far off from Cincinnati's. ND plays one elite team, and that's it. Cincy doesn't play any elite teams, but they play a handful of mid-to-high top 25 teams. Overall, ND's schedule is a little tougher, but not by a whole lot.
